Good replacement wheels

Replaced 4 wheels on Kenneth Cole Reaction suitcase. Cutting the axles on the original wheels required some effort ( I used a #18 metal hacksaw blade). I also used a few drops of light machine oil on the bearings. The wheels spin freely. Will not know anything about durability until my next trip.

After watching several videos of people replacing their luggage wheels I decided to give it a try. I have an intermediate size American Tourister that I bought some years ago. The wheels literally disintegrated. I saw this kit, and ordered it. Yes, you need to be as accurate as possible as to which size you choose. The installation could be a bit of a challenge because there are a variety of mounting options from piece to piece. I had to use a Dremel tool to grind off the brad on the inside of the luggage. That was the least complicated way to remove the original axle. After that the fit and ease of assembly was very good. Now the durability of the wheels themselves will determine the success of this project.
Suitcase Replacement Wheels Better than Original Equipment

Replaced worn wheels on Samsonite suitcase. Took some work, but once completed, the suitcase rolls better than new and gave this suitcase added new life. These wheels are much, much better than original equipment. Replacement axles fit original holes in wheel holders perfectly, but needed nylon spacers on either side of wheel bearings to make sure bearings were kept fairly secure in wheels. Still worth the cost and effort.

These work great, but they were a major pain in the ass to replace. The hardest part was getting the original suitcase apart since it was 100% rivets. The manufacturers really do not want you to ever repair these things, just buy new ones. I win this time. 25 year old carry on rockin with new wheels.
