I am usually skeptical about sizes whe it comes to kids protective gears. This one was no exeption, there was a serious lack of sizing chart.
My kid is 8 year old, about 4 feet 6 inches high and weighs 45 pounds. Skinny by most accounts.
The medium helmet fits his head perfectly. Would give 5 stars if oroduct description was better informed about sizing. Overall great value helmet!

Perfect for my 8 year old son. He just got his first skateboard and I wanted to be sure his noggin was safe. I love the way it adjusts on the back too. you just turn a little knob on the back to tighten the straps. It is a great quality an I will be purchasing these for the rest of the kids.

Overall I really like this product and it provides full coverage for my daughters head. I do have two downsides to the product. First is I think it runs a little larger than the size description says. We compensated by tightening the chin straps however this led to some inadvertent chin pinches that my daughter definitely didn't like. The second downside is the knob that tightens or loosens the helmet size. It easily loosens and it's properly protected so it sometimes catches her hair. Again all of this is easy to work around.
