It doesn't get out everything, but it gets a lot of stains out that you'd think wouldn't be able to be removed. It's cleaned 15 year old-ish stuffed animals, a used mattress (8/10 improvement for that job), and did really nicely on well-used white vinyl chairs (though there were unknown black dots that wouldn't come out of one chair). It didn't make much difference on an old upholstered corduroy chair, but very happy with everything else! Don't forget to shake it, though, it'll stop foaming if you miss a shake
