Started making leather sheaths for my knives, the two prong piece (most useful) broke on my second use. The prongs are only long enough to go through 2 layers of leather at a time, for making sheaths this is a problem. At the seam there are 3 layers, and this forces me to use another tool to get the job done. A tool that doesn't perform it's job and breaks upon second use is just junk.

The set arrived nicely packaged in a clear plastic case that latched, and the external visual quality of the chisels appeared of decent quality; however upon attempting to use the 2 prong chisel, the bottom prong snapped off inside properly cased 7-9 oz vegetable tanned leather. Upon closer examination, it was clear that there was a couple of hairline fractures around the fracture point, closest to the shoulder of the chisel, most likely from improper casting and/or finish machining; additionally the underlying material appeared to be poorly cast metal which may have contributed to the failure.
I got a set with a kit I bought (4mm) but wanted the 6mm also.

I got a set with a kit I bought (4mm) but wanted the 6mm also. Not as nice as the 4mm ones that I got with the kit but they appear servicable. I havent used them yet but they appear to be of reasonable quality.

I've used this for over a month, and they work great. I was hesitant because there was reviews saying the 1 and 2 would break. If you are using a soft base under the leather there shouldn't be any issues.
