When you have concrete floors and a metal spiral staircase you become a bit of a helicopter parent when you have a 8 month old crawling around exploring. We bought this helmet 2 months ago to ease the anxiety of having our little boy fall and hit his head (as all babies do every so often). It's perfect! It's not too bulky so it doesn't bother him while he is wearing it. It absorbs a good amount of the fall, but not completely. We love this because he is able to learn boundaries and consequences while playing without any brain damage.

For a baby that can't stand to wear a hat, he was surprisingly okay with this. Only used it a little while. When he first started sanding up and walking it didn't occur to me till I saw it (first baby), that he wouldn't know to bend and fall on his butt right away, and it was like watching a 2x4 fall over. Scared the crap out of me. He probably wore this a little while for maybe 3 days before he started getting the hang of falling down, but if nothing else, it gave me a little piece of mind.

This is a nice looking helmet. However, the design doesn't protect the forehead much. That's where my son had previously hurt himself. Sent it back and got a different product that offered better protection even if it was less stylish.

Used the hat for my son for a period of 3 months, noticed hair loss where the foam lining of the hat sits on his head, we then stopped using it immediately. We bought it thinking it was made of cotton, read the label to find out that the filling is something called IXPE. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
