An impressive stone for the price.

I have used this stone for a while now and I am very impressed. The stone comes in a well made cardboard box for storage if you choose, otherwise it will store well on your work bench using the just top and bottom rubber edge covers. These covers work great for keeping the stone in place while you use two hands on your knife or tool you are sharpening. I have tried this out on some chefs knives that were badly in need of a new edge and this stone brought them back to a fantastic edge using the coarse side first to bring the ragged edge into shape and the soft side to hone it razor sharp. I don't believe you can go wrong for the money and I haven't seen anything to compare to a stone this size. I don't believe they provide the dimensions in the description so the dimensions are 2 5/16" X 7" which is enough width for all of my chisels and hand planes. I am very happy with this purchase.
Worth the money.

Don't waste the money on a super expensive set of stones, this is all you need and I have owned a few different sets and have noticed very little difference. I can still shave with my knives after I sharpen them on this stone.
Grits are much rougher than stated, but still works great

The 3000 grit side is rougher than the 1000 grit side of my king 1000/6000 stone, and the 8000 grit is rougher than the 6000 of the king stone, and the "3k" side wears down real quick. But knowing that it still does a decent job if i use it with my other stone.

Good whetstone to bring vintage chisels back to life. I have an old set of Stanley #40 chisels that haven't touched wood in 30+ years. The whetstone restored the edges to razor sharp weapons of fine hacking for this old wood butcher. Well made stone and the two grits are perfect for restoring Sheffield steel. Highly recommend.
Sharpens beautifully

It takes some patience and trial and error to get the proper technique down to sharpen evenly, but once I got it, my knives were as sharp or sharper than when I bought them. I also found that soaking for at least a couple hours makes the stone wet throughout rather than on the surface, like the recommended 10 minutes on the box.
