Build quality poor, plastic end pieces came cracked which affects the end cap stability

Curtain rod end piece came broken. Unlike conventional curtain rods where the end is welded with a pre-finished threaded piece in which a finial (or in this case, and end cap) screws in, this rod terminates in a plastic cap with threading into which the end cap screws. The problem is the plastic piece is highly unstable and came cracked, which made hanging the curtain rod a pain as the end piece tends to come loose while the rod is being adjusted and would thus slip from the bracketing and fall. This turned an otherwise simple project into an exercise in frustration as the decoupling of the rod, end piece and bracket happened several times. We made it work but the build quality on this item is not up to par and if it were anywhere other than a ceiling I would have returned it. Not happy with the price I paid nor with how poor quality the plastic end pieces are.
