A first class product. I needed better access to the gas gauge sending unit on my pontoon boat. The manufacturer only put in a 5 inch diameter cover plate which made it very difficult to service. I installed this unit which gave me plenty of access to my gas tank area to remove the sending unit easily, as well as access to the connector plug. Almost impossible with the old 5 inch hole.
Description is off by 1/8". Other than that, EXCELLENT product!

Fantastic product however the description is slightly off. The description says that the hatch is 14.75 inches...or 14 3/4 inches....however it is slightly smaller. The actual size is 14 5/8 inches which was 1/8 to small for the space I wanted to install it in. I was able to return the product hassle free and have already purchased one that will fit a different part of my boat. From what I could tell, it is built with excellent quality materials, is very sturdy and durable. I would highly recommend.

Mounted this on my sit on top Kayak. My kayak did not have an access port in the back. I use it in the ocean and found at times stuff rolled to the back past the netting I put in the front cargo hold to prevent that. This hatch has helped eliminate that problem and made cleaning easier. I use this kayak diving as well as fishing. I have not dove since installing this and since it is in the area where my tank goes. It does not appear sturdy enough but time will tell. Right now functions as desired.
