GOOD FLUID
Neal J.•July 2, 2018
I used this when I changed the fluid in my 2000 Honda CRV and have had good results. The car had become sluggish when going into passing gear. We changed it three times, driving about 500 miles between changes, and it got better after each change and seems about normal for a vehicle with 119,000 miles now. Only two and a half quarts would drain out each change.

I would honestly change your transmission fluid every other year. It's so easy and affordable, no reason not to.
A couple of tips:
Get some flexible 1/2 inch inside diameter hose and a hose clamp from the hardware store. Attach it to a funnel to easily reach the transmission fill port.
Drain the old fluid into a clean container, then measure how much came out. Put the exact same amount of clean fluid back in. This saves a lot of rechecking the transmission dipstick. I did this, drove the car to warm it up and checked it. It was spot on correct level.
Lastly, don't use third party transmission fluids ever just to save a few bucks. Use what ever oil you want, any brake fluid, power steering fluid... but always use Genuine Transmission fluid and Genuine Coolant. Otherwise, you'll regret it when your seals start to fail.

The best ATF for a Honda

This is the good stuff. Nothing else works as well in a Honda automatic transmission.
It's much wiser to use the proper ATF, even though it's not cheap, than to have your tranny shift roughly and die sooner.
Amazon has the best price, shipped, that I could find anywhere.

Choose the Genuine Honda ATF

When I purchased I got it for a good price, it's been about a month since. I did a transmission fluid change at home, which is pretty easy if you have a couple jacks and a tool kit. If you don't mind getting a little dirty and you have some light auto mechanical experience, save yourself some cash and do it at home. I found it is just as easy as an oil change, with the only difference is that it takes the transmission fluid a little longer to drain (even with a warm trans).
I used to think my 2010 Honda Crosstour only needed 3 quarts, but I bought the 4 quart pack just in case. After pouring all the fluid that drained out into a gallon jug to the top, I knew I actually needed to pour all 4 quarts back into the transmission.
My car was running so smooth afterwards, and a month later the dipstick still comes up with pink colored liquid, and that's after about 2K miles since the trans fluid change. My old trans fluid was pretty black when I drained it, which means it was damaged and severely need to be changed.
I recommend using the Genuine Honda ATF.

Brought car back to life

Excellent. I had transmission flushed and filled at local oil change shop. Within 2 weeks it started given me trouble. Nearly junked the car but decided to try this. Flushed and filled with correct fluid and it's now shifting great
