The lotion is great initially. After that, stick to the goo.

I'm going to rate each product in the box individually, so hopefully that will help potential buyers.
1. Healing lotion - This lotion is great, as it's not too thick or thin. In my experience, once the first layer of skin began to crack and peel, the lotion did little to keep it hydrated for more than an hour. I give it 3 out of 5.
2. Cleanser - I really like this stuff. It's effective at cleaning and loosening up skin that's ready to come off as your tattoo heals . 5 out of 5.
3. Tattoo Goo - It's oily, it's messy, but it really does go on smooth with minimal effort. It seems to keep my skin hydrated far longer after applying than the lotion does. 4 out of 5.
4. Renewing lotion - I haven't used it, and probably won't. Is a gimmick; tattoos can't become more vibrant with the use of lotion if they're already faded. No rating.

Perfect little kit
Sharon R•January 23, 2018
This stuff is amazing. A co-worker told me about it when I mentioned that I was getting a new tattoo and was not looking forward to the smell of A&D ointment. I did a little research on the salve and then I found this perfect little kit. It comes with everything you need. So far I have used the cleansing soap and the salve. The smell is very light but pleasant. The salve is light, not goopy and not greasy. I just rubbed the little bit left on my finger into my hand and it was gone. My husband and I were both getting tattoos so we really should have ordered 2 kits. The kit is small, but it is perfect for single person use. He was able to pick one up at one of our local retailers for a few bucks more than what I paid on Amazon. I felt even better about my purchase when I saw that they carry Tattoo Goo at the shop we went to. I will be ordering this kit again for my next tattoo.
Nice Kit!

I got this kit because after 6 years of not getting inked I forgot about the aftercare products needed! The tin of ointment really does relieve the itching and it has a nice smell to it. I prefer cleaning with tea tree soap so I have not tried the cleansing soap yet or the lotion with SPF yet. Both the lotion and ointment are great for the healing process so far! I would recommend this kit to anyone new or old getting ink!
Truly great product, made my tattoo heal perfectly!

After getting my sleeve done I was using aquaphor and mild cleansing soap followed by standard unscented lotion as I have always done with prior tattoos, however this time when I got the lotioning stage of the process my skin started to break out in a horrible rash. With a dry and itchy tattoo I was desperate to find something that would alleviate and help to heal the tattoo better. In comes Tattoo Goo, I had heard about it in the past but always thought it was just a branded product that artists sold to make some extra cash, BUT I couldn't have been more wrong!
The kit comes with an antimicrobial soap, healing lotion, restorative balm, and tattoo sun lotion. The soap has a surgical smell to it but it worked great and I really felt like I was getting the tattoo clean, the lotion is mild and unscented and felt as if it provided the perfect amount of moisture to the tattoo to allow it to properly heal. I used the restorative balm on an older fading tattoo and I'm not going to say it looked brand new but it definitely brought some life back into it!
After using the kit the rash subsided and my tattoo healed perfectly. Some people can get away with dollar store brand lotion but apparently my skin is sensitive and I will never use anything other than the Tattoo Goo kit again!

AWESOME

bought this kid to try out all of the products. i love them so far! the aftercare lotion is the BOMB and it really helped with the itching that is associated with tattoos healing. i use the sunscreen all the time too. i didnt really know how to use the green stuff (in the tin pot) but it said to put on older tattoos to revive the color and i tried it and i think it works pretty well. the soap is awesome too but it smells a little medicin-ey. i will def be buying a full size lotion and sunscreen now!
