Although this does take a few minutes to heat up, it works like a champ!! The cord is long enough to reach my entire windshield on my minivan as well, and it plugs right into the cigarette lighter outlet. There is a built in squeegee and light to make it easier to see when it's dark outside. This ice scraper gets all the ice off REALLY, really fast!! I love it. My van isn't even heated up yet by the time I'm finished removing the ice. I received my heated ice scraper at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased feedback. I was skeptical on how effective this would really be on ice, as that seems to be the biggest hurdle when it comes to weather issues and my car. I hate having to wait for the car to pump out enough heat through the defroster vents to melt the entire windshield. This helps so much! The element is surprisingly effective in melting ice and frost, while the scraper and squeegee help remove the rest. I love that it has a built in flashlight, as well as the fact that the cigarette lighter outlet plug fits directly into the handle so it's less likely to get damaged. I really wish I had this in December. I received this item at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
