I bought this clock to replace an antique one that no longer worked. I had missed the older clock terribly as it sat on a shelf that I often checked for the time. I received this clock quickly and was impressed that, even before I received the clock that they had electronically sent me a copy of the clock's manual. Physically the clock is beautiful and fit perfectly on my shelf. The clock was easy to set for time and has been keeping time accurately. I must admit that I have not yet taken the time to set the chimes which I plan to do as soon as I have an extra minute or two. I can add comments about that process and their accuracy once I see how those work out.

I ordered this clock because I wanted chimes. The chimes do not have solid sound they sound muffled. Clock looks great and keeps good time but because of the chimes, I have to give only 2 stars.

This clock is way overpriced. It came with a dent on the front, and I tried to covered the scuff with a dark Old English polish. It wouldn't take because it had been lacquered right over the bare scuff. The dial and attached movement are loose and freely move within the hole making the clock look lopsided. It was fairly easy to set up the chimes. However, the chimes sound very "tinny." The numbers on the dial don't look symmetrical. It's too much of a hassle to send it back. It is cheap looking and projects shoddy workmanship. I wish I'd bought the Seiko.

The clock is beautiful, although i wish that it was just slightly longer. I find that the light yellow/tan background makes it a bit difficult to read the time from a distance, but it's a small issue. I do not use the chime - it did not suit me, but i still like the clock.
