Quiet, low vibrating weedeater surpasseded my battery needs.

I bought the 4mah batter with the GreenWiorksST40B410 Weed Eater because I have a large yard; lucky me. I have a one acre, corner lot in the city, with over 200 feet of sidewalk, to include a two-car driveway, and the battery life exceeded my needs to trim everything. When I completed all that needed to trimmed I had over one-half battery life remaining. I also trimmed some weeds in garden. The run time was over 30 minutes. The feel of the weed eater was different than my old weed eater, its much longer and straight, but with some adjustments to the center handle it became easier to hold. The cutting area also took some time to get use to it seemed lower than my former model but it cut effectively. I was worried about the auto feed since the last weed eater would use about 3 to 4 spools to finish the job but it also worked fine. I just had to be cognizant of not turning on and off the motor like a 2 cycle weed eater that developed the habit. Lastly, I am charging/ storing the battery inside the house, laundry room, to prevent extreme variation in temperature, in hopes that it will extend the battery life. The charger can be hung on the wall...
I love it -- cuts my work time in half compared ...

This is a true WEED WHACKER! It's the bomb--it does not play around. It whacks everything in its path, be warned. I love it -- cuts my work time in half compared to my Ryobi whose battery just quit on me. With a replacement battery costing $150, I decided to just buy a new machine, and I'm glad I switched. I think the double line makes a big difference, and the battery recharges in 2 hours. I've been using it about 3 weeks with no problem so far. Be careful not to get too close to plants like lillies with heavy leaves; they get caught in the mechanism and really pull at the motor, probably shortening its running time--and they can gum the whole works up (I used to have to stop and take things apart to get them unwound from the wheel of my Ryobi), but this one just shakes it off if you move it in time. It is long, as some have mentioned, but that means I can reach under bushes easily. I can handle it fairly easily, and I'm a 5' 6", 130 lb, 71 year old woman with not very strong arms. This GreenWorks product is A+ in my book .
No Gasoline

I have very little trimming to do, hence with the gas trimmer that I used to use I had the usual gasoline problems which meant replacing the carb every couple of years (they are so cheap it's easier than cleaning or rebuilding). This serves my needs perfectly, pull the trigger and it's ready to go. I bought a GreenWorks hedge trimmer as well, uses the same battery and have had no problems with run time with either unit. Only downside and its very minor, with the automatic line trimmer that trims a 1/4 of an inch of line on every start, could go through the line quickly if the machine is turned off and on many times. Easy solution: Just pull the trigger once until I'm done unless more line is needed.
this is impressively better than expected

WOW! this is impressively better than expected. the weedeater destroys what i put in front of it and it is so much easier than a gas powered. You just charge the battery and go and for my little .25 acre yard it is perfect. the blower works great too, not that strong but again, i am just blowing a drive way and landscape area. really reallly impressed!!!!
Love these tools
Johnny D.✓ Verified PurchaseNovember 29, 2016
I love these tools. I have a chainsaw too. I have two batteries that I rotate. If one is getting low I just switch to the other. Usually don't have to as the batteries hold a good charge. Only times I ever have to rotate is if cutting up firewood. It's SO much better than dealing with extension cords and/or gas engines.
