Great theory, great build quality, doesn't quite do what you'd expect.

It sort of works, the gates do not appear to close. In therory, this looks like it would work good. However in practice it does noy seem to close when done spinning as the corn is still there. Being that there is a constant outflow of corn, the constant stream of corn doesn't allow it to close. Maybe a spring assisted model?
