If you don't burn through half a pencil a day, you probably don't need this awesome sharpener.
Just because you don't need it doesn't mean you shouldn't get it though :)
It's a great precise pencil sharpener that will last a lifetime.
If you use a pencil, even if only occasionally, and like things that are well made and meant to last you won't regret owning a DUX... maybe when you loose it, cause then you will want to get another one.

I got a dud sharpener

This is my second Dux adjustable sharpener and for reasons I cannot figure out, it just won't sharpen pencils. The pencils just spin around in the hole with very little contact with the blade. I have dismantled and re-assembled it with no improvement. I don't know if I just have a dud. Too late to return it to AMZ but I may buy another one to see if it's just a one-off dud. I don't recall my earlier sharpener being so bad.
