I spent a lot of time reading about knee pads. I have a kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom to tile. I am a DIY type and have tiled in the past. This led me to wanting knee pads that made it easy to move around on my knees. I didn't want knee pads with two straps. The one on the thigh just gets in the way. I wanted something that I could get up and down in, clomp around on, and in general use to work.

I picked the Tough Built based on shape, reviews, and budget. I just wanted knee pads. These seemed a perfect fit.

I got them. They are a tough narrow at the outer edges but it wasn't uncomfortable. The straps velcro with plenty of room behind my calf. They sit high enough not to bother my calf and stayed in place. The hard plate but well padded knee made dropping down on them easy and clomping around a joy. I was ready to give them five stars.

Then the strap broke the third time I wore them. The strap broke inside of the pad. If you look at the image, teh strap padded into the hard, exterior plastic plate and through. It frayed and broke from what I guess is pressure. However, this happened on the third day of using them with a total of eight hours of use.

Amazing support and comfortablitly but I am unable to fit them around my thighs. Now i'm not a heavy guy but I do have fairly fit thighs and the support that is supposed to fit above my knees won't Velcro around mine as a matter of fact I had my girlfriend try them on her legs and she is almost 70 pounds less than I am and they were fairly tight around hers as well haven't had time to take send them to be exchanged

Bought these for my husband because he works on irrigation systems and wants to avoid arthritis down the road. He loves them because his knees stay dry and they stay in place. Would defiantly recommend them. My husbands legs arent too skinny and not super thick so they fit just fine.

These things are so cool! I am a contractor, who does a lot of floor work. Over the years I have owned many knee pads and all of them fall down and twist to the side, needing to be taken off and put on again often. What a nuisance this always is! These stay in place, feel great and seem like they will last a lifetime.

My coworker has a pair of the Tough built Gelfit stabilizer knee pads and snapshells and I really liked them for the fact that they prevent you from moving side to side. That platform has excellent grip and also prevents sliding. However, they also have one strap that holds them one and after awhile it starts to dig in and hurt. This pair has two straps, one above and one below the knee and doesn't bind or cut off circulation. However, with this pair, I am sliding all over the place. I work on top of stainless steel roofs so my body slides in the opposite direction that I am pushing; which is rather annoying. I truly wish ToughBuilt would make this pair with the stabilizer that the snapshell has. Then it would be perfect. Overall, this pair feels great, quite comfortable and rugged. I feel they do protect my knees to a high degree because after 8 hours on a roof, I don't have throbbing pain in my knee caps at night. While the sliding issue is annoying, I would rather deal with that then having my circulation cut off by the one-strap knee pads or cheaper quality ones that don't fit right.
