What's important to know ! :}

I read tons of reviews here, as well as researching some articles about using copper cookware , before ordering my tea kettle. I think some folks complaining suffered from a lack of knowledge, & some a lack of "common" sense.
Yes, this IS solid copper, it's just tinned inside to prevent any toxins from leaching out of the copper metal. (Look it up. Lots of info.)
It holds just over a quart & a half. That means you should fill it with about a QUART of water, not to the brim, or it WILL boil over.
Again, that's WATER. Tea kettles heat water, TEA CUPS, are where tea bags belong. Tea is fairly acidic, so causes stains, and is not good for your copper kettle, its lining, or it's finish. Water is mildly acidic and contains various minerals, so clean up spills promptly to keep spots from forming. Microfiber clothes will help to avoid scratching the finish.
You WILL have a patina eventually form. You might like it, or can use copper polish on your kettle, to keep the finish bright, but be sure to use a non abrasive pad so as not to scratch it.
If you don't want your kettle to turn black right out of the gate, use MEDIUM heat +/- depending on your stovetop, & a bit of patience, it's not a race, you're making tea! Several people plainly had the burner set as high as possible. One claimed to burn their hand on the wood handle! But copper heats very efficiently. Your kettle will heat more rapidly than the cookware you're accustomed to, at a lower heat setting. It also will retain heat well, so be sure to use care, as with any hot pot.
The first pot of water I boiled, I left the lid off entirely, to watch what was happening, & get to know my kettle, & so it woudn't boil over. The whole process was rewarding. My Earl Grey tea was delicious, the second cup almost as hot as the first, & my pot still shiny, even on the bottom. Not one spill, not one leak. I did notice someone complained of the screw in the lid eventually rusting, perhaps a simple inexpensive stainless steel screw would cure that? Mine's too new, so haven't run into that problem. My one small irritation was I've been used to a whistling kettle, none the less, a watched pot WILL boil, & I'll get used to it fast enough.
But the sellers communications were superb, I got a nice note offering help with any problem, from "Ozy". My tea kettle was extremely well wrapped in bubble wrap. It arrived very quickly, (I'm in the midwest). There were no customs charges, (at least on mine), which I'd worried about.
And so, I'm quite happy with my purchase & would recommend this tea kettle & the seller.
This is THE ONE if you are looking for a copper kettle!

This kettle is simple wonderful!! Who knew Turkey made such beautiful and quality product?! This is the second copper kettle I have purchased from Amazon. The first kettle I bought was from Japan. It was a lot thinner than this one a bit smaller and the quality was not good. Plus I constantly worried about radiation since I purchased it after the Fukushima incident in 2011. So I never felt 100% safe with Japanese import after then. That kettle took a ride a couple years ago and I was ready to purchase a new one. I saw this one and immediately loved the detail of the engraved design. It's very detailed and sturdy. The wood handle is wonderful. The brass accents are beautiful. I clean it once a week with Bar Keepers friend (the soft scrub kind) and it goes right back to it's beautiful copper shine. Through the week it develops. Lovely patina as all good copper should, then inside is clean and tempered so you know your water is clean safe and hot. Copper kettles aren't made to be as big as regular issue kettles. This one. Is enough to make about 3 to 4 large mugs of tea. It takes a little longer to heat up than regular kettle and that is just fine. It is worth the wait. Feel like a turn of the century proper lady using my lovely kettle for a hot cup of tea to warm up or settle my nerves after a long day in academia. Love my heirloom Cooper kettle!! I would buy. Again from this seller. It also arrived quickly and packaged well!
but it is certainly beautiful and it arrived very quickly

I bought this as a wedding gift so I can't comment on performance, but it is certainly beautiful and it arrived very quickly.
It's very beautiful, but probably not going to be very functional

I was so excited to receive this. I've never had a teapot without a whistle/spout cover before. I didn't think that would be a problem until boiling hot water shot out of the end of the spout and went everywhere! Also, whatever was used to blacken the handle doesn't stay on apparently. Picked up the pot to pour some water and my hand came away black. It's very beautiful, but probably not going to be very functional. Definitely wouldn't purchase it again.
Love this teapot
