Great, but not misty

I have been looking for a way to stop buying so many disposable cans and found this item. It's great, but it does not come out as a mist even when you pull the handle slowly. It acts the same as oil from a can though, as soon as you put the heat on, the oil disperses or ends up in little globs, so there's really not a huge difference. Just don't expect it to come out as a mist!

I've used this for a couple of months now and I just love this thing. I always bought the stuff in the can which is probably full of chemicals and the brands I bought changed the spray nozzle design so that it always leaked. I had just had it and thought anything had to be better than those.
I've had no problems with clogging or leaking with this. I mix my olive oil with half alcohol (I use vodka because it doesn't have much flavor). Don't have to measure it, just kind of eyeball into the container. I think this thins it out so you have less problems. Just give it a good shake before you spray. You can use water instead, but might have to worry about bacteria build-up and vodka is more fun anyway.
I use this on my cast irons, bake-ware, tops of biscuits, pies, breads, the grill, whatever. I'm sure any cheap spray bottle would work, but this is glass and food grade. Plastic is going to leach into your food. Especially when you are filling it with oil. I've filled it four times and haven't had to wash it out yet; Prepara people told me to just do it if it clogs. But I suppose at some point I will have to break down and clean it............

I purchased this sprayer to use with EVOO. I love the size and the ease of use however, it doesn't spray as wide as I hoped it would. I understand if you pull the trigger fast it should provide a full spray and if you pull it slowly it would provide a stream. Maybe I just haven't learned how fast is fast when pulling the trigger. I'm hoping that's all it is. If I get this figured out I may come back and give it 5 stars. I really do like it otherwise.

Easy to use and after I broke mine on the granite countertop I had to have another one. It's a bit pricy but I use it at least once a day and it's well worth it. Doesn't clog as easily as other ones I've had like the misto but does best when the spray nozzle is kept cleaned so I wash that every couple weeks or so with soapy water and that keeps a finer mist of oil as opposed to a stream of oil.
