Excellent reel for beginners trying to up their kite game. Works very well. Only thing is watch out for flying in heavy wind, reeling in hurt my hand a bit and it almost spun out of control. Absolutely a breeze to use in light and medium wind at the beach.

This thing is beautiful and gives an amazing kite experience. You never loses control on your kite and landing became simple and easy - as the rope is constantly tight at the right angle it lands literally on your palm. Overall performance is really smooth and even my 5 yo son can hold it with no issues. Ball-bearings are pretty smooth and rotation is really fast so you can handle a really strong winds with no issues. Also it has a tiny spring-loaded brake for your convince. Overall it is really nice thing to have and your kite experience will give you a lot of positive thoughts. Strong winds to all!

Aboslutely love this kite winder. It would take 15 minutes to wind in 500 feet of string on a regular spool. With the winder just over a minute. Easy to use. Im spoiled now. Will only use winders on kites that i may buy in the future

This Kite reel is great for reeling it back in....however it definitely takes some coordination to learn to use it when letting the kite out! I have found it best to lay the kite on the ground and walk the line out rather then letting the kite line out once the kite is up- the line can get screwed up where it goes through the guide and gets knotted up easily if you are not careful. While of course this is far superior to just the string on a spool, I probably would not buy this for kids as it is too difficult to operate for a child.
