They work really well on regular snack chip bags, etc. However, due to the thickness of the bag itself for Costco's Kirkland Tortilla Strips, they don't work at all.

These sticks work great. Just wish I had thought of it.

The plastic bags sealers are a great, space saving concept! I really appreciate how small they are; it makes them easy enough to keep in the drawer with my other utensils. The bright colors make them easy to find when they are mixed in with everything else, as well.

They are a simple concept; simply fold the bag over, slip into the space between the two parts that make up the bag sealer and pull the sealer across the bag (there are step by step picture instructions included on the back of the package). I noticed other people saying that they had a difficult time getting the sealer to go on the bag; I didn't experience this issue at all, and had the sealer on the bag within a matter of seconds. Make sure to choose a sealer that is longer than the bag you need sealed, and don't pull too hard or the two pieces of the sealer will pop apart. Easy enough to pop back together, but then you have to start sealing your bag all over again. These are harder to get on flimiser bags, like bread bags, simply because they rely on the bag itself being able to slide smoothly in a small space (in fact, I wasn't able to get on the bread bag at all). The sealers just end up pulling and tearing at the thinner plastic of the bread bag. But I don't have any issues with getting them on to chip bags and similar! The set includes 8 total bag sealers of four varying sizes; I had to use the largest bag sealer to seal a standard 12 ounce bag of chips. They sealed the bag of chips better than a simple clip would, although they won't help you to preserve your food long term; these are meant as more of a short term food preservation method, allowing your bag of chips to last two weeks instead of two days. They are also easy to remove, sliding right off the bag. I also use them on my bags of coffee beans to help keep my coffee beans fresh!

I decided to give these a try because I'm tired of my snacks going stale because I can't find a close pin anywhere in my house to use. We usually have a few different sized bags of chips in the house most of the time and the size variety of sealer sticks make it easy to choose the right stick for the job. I will say that I don't have a lot of patience and when I first received these sticks and went to use them, I hard a hard time getting them to slide across my bag and to stay on the bag as I slid it across. They almost found there way into the trash, but I got it all figured out and working good. I was used to close pins where I would fold the bag a few times and put on the clip. With these, I just fold the bag once and make it a tight seam and slide the stick over it nice and slow and I can usually get it the first try. You really have to be patient and get a good fold on your bag and just go slow with them. These won't be for everyone, but I would recommend them as an alternative to close pins.
