This sundial is metal, a dark bronze color. Easy to assemble with 1 screw, provided. The roman numerals on the dial are spaced fairly well so it keeps time within about 15 minutes, give or take. It is a fun piece, flat on the bottom so it can be placed on a pedestal or table or bricks, like I have done. The dial is heavy enough that it will stay in place without being adhered to a surface. We just had a horrific wind and rain storm and it came through just fine. This sundial is a little more money than some but not as expensive as the more ornate or more accurate dials. I am very pleased with this sundial and recommend it for your self or a gift.

I ordered for my wife, who asked for it and is extremely pleased. It could have been packed better, as it arrived with a rather crunched box, but the sundial was perfectly intact. Minus 1 star for having no instructions for how to set up to read accurately (though my wife had already researched that on the web--and it's really quite simple.)
