Ditch the old wood block! You need this!

Bigger than I expected - obviously I didn't check the specs - but still a very sleek design that takes up so much less counter space than my old wood knife block. And it holds so many more knives than my old wood block that didn't even have enough slots for all of the knives that came with it to begin with (WTF?) This universal block easily holds anywhere between 17-20 knives of various shapes and sizes. Easy to wipe clean, too. Ditch the clunky wood block and replace with this. You'll love it.

Got this to hold a couple of specialty knives, butcher's knife and a bread knife, that do not fit into the knife holder and I don't want to lay in a drawer to accidently slice myself. Tons of little carbon rods that slide to the side and hold the knife in place. A bit heavy so you don't have to worry about it tipping over as easily. It was cheaper here than the store I first saw it in (sells a lot of boxes, containers and other stuff to store items in and organize your house).

Item is as described. It looks good. It will not tip over easily. If you are carefull, I don't think the ''plastic straws'' are going to bend or break. I fit 10 knives in this. The only negative aspect is the colour is not that great on the red model. It's like a washed off tomato. Kapoosh should think about having a brighter colour(more like red apple). The same goes for their ''gray'' model : it's like a washed off black. Just make it black or red : the washed off kind of makes it look cheap.

When we just started using it, it was great and has great design. After using for a while, the black insert bent! I have no idea how it happened. Now when I put the knives in, it's not smooth at all like in the beginning.

Cool knife block. I've always used a magnetic knife bar, but my new kitchen doesn't have a space for it. Color is as pictured (I ordered the cherry red). The bamboo isn't distributed evenly (not necessarily a design flaw, just gravity makes it lean one way or the other), so certain parts don't hold as well as others, but it works adequately well and looks nice to boot.
