Item is great for looks, but does not hold up well. Tested book end with some normal hardback books, and when they leaned in, they toppled and the books bent the top half of the slanted side away from itself, chipping the paint slightly.
Would recommend using a normal bookend to hold up most of shelf, then have a handful of books, comic books, or whatever slanted in the supergal one, but half of the supergal's base pinned under the normal bookend.

Cute, fun and functional. We got this for my 12-yr-old daughter because it was a girl superhero. It works well and is unique. I recommend using a paperback book instead of a hard cover to go over end, because the magnet grips better.
