It's misleading, if you go by the picture and envision something more sturdy or, something larger. It's thin. And small. And, most important in my case - that is, the reason I'm taking the time to give this review - is that its dubious usefulness...it's ruined. Because of one thing: The way it was shipped, which renders it bent. A permanently folded chart is not what I had in mind for this Magnetic Refrigerator Chalkboard.

Nice looking board, but we had multiple issues with it:
1) it wouldn't stick. The only place we have found that it will stick to it the back of a metallic chair (as in tick metal!) Many other places that we can get regular magnets to stick to are not good enough for this "board".
2) the surface is really sleek, so writing with regular chalk pens is a pain, cleaning a single line is even more difficult and basically every time we want to clean a single line, we have to clear the whole board.
3) Lastly, because of the issues above, our magnets do not stick to the board. We tried to just hang the calendar on its own and our magnets slide right off.

Poorly Laid out & Cheaply made

Very disappointed in this chart. I LOVED how it looks in the pictures, but when it arrived it I was disappointed at how cheap it looked. To begin with, the printing of the white lines is horrible and looks faded throughout. The black background is not a vibrant black as shown in the picture where bright florescent color markers will pop. Sort of reminds me of an old worn out chalkboard. The next thing is markers will not write well on it at all and definitely do not show up well as shown in the photo or come off very well in order to rewrite something new. I have to really scrub to get the marker off. Finally the overall layout is very small and hard to use. The boxes are very small and hard to write in and circle sticker magnets really do not fit in the the boxes - they overlap. This product is poorly made. Very disappointing. This is very bad quality chalkboard. Well it's not really a chalkboard it's black color dry erase board. Super thin to start with. Arrived in plastic bag with no protection. After I opened it I noticed scratches and small dents all over the board. Very poor quality. I am honestly amazed how many positive reviews this product have. That's the main reason I got this. It makes me think I can't really rely on amazon reviews anymore. I was so upset after seeing this board that I tossed it in a garbage. Waste of money!
One child shoeless & fanciful delusions

So, I went to the grocery store the other day, against my better judgement, (I order everything from shpit or Amazon, because I am outnumbered by the tiny humans) I got to the cash register. I casually looked down to the ground, and i noticed one of my children was shoe less. How did i get here, how am i at this point? It was my epiphany. Either I pull it together or admit I've lost it. I chose the former.
Enter this little beauty. First off. It's black. Can't go wrong with that. Secondly, it isnt breakable. Score one for that. Third. It provides visual cues for reinforcement of structure. I ordered two, one for schedule and one for chores. So far day two, no catastrophes, but no miracles either. Not that this product claimed to be miraculous, but perhaps I can believe the delusion that it'll help because I spent money. I mean, it worked when i bought a planner, 6 months and I'm still going strong!
I bought chalk makers for this. They work. It sticks to the front door, good deal. I'll update if miracles do actually happen with this product. I mean I don't expect them, but you never know
