Love the camera but App is a bit weird

We replaced the crappy $100+ camera that SimpliSafe sells for it's security system with this unit. It's far superior, for a great deal less money. While the SimpliSafe had the advantage of connecting to the overall alarm system, this one is just so far superior in every other way, so much so that it was worthwhile for us to make the change. It swivels and views the entire room, and even in low light it comes across with a color picture (the SimpliSafe would move to Black and White if it was anything less than full sunny day). The application for the iPhone works, without crashing, but it's not very intuitive. I've used it for a couple of weeks now and still can't figure out how to get to certain screens and so on. The long and the short is that we'd buy this again and would recommend to anyone. Nice quality build -- if they improve their app, I'm going to come back and make this a 5-star purchase.

This camera is simply awesome. Picture quality is great, audio works well, night vision is surprisingly clear and bright. Setup and operating the camera from the app is easy and the connection is very smooth and reliable. Horizontal rotation is fantastic. However, if you're planning on needing to see the floor (to monitor pets, etc.), don't place this camera on a table top as the downward viewing angle is not sharp at all (upward pointing angle is great). Either place it on the floor or plan to mount it to your ceiling or under a shelf (I did the latter). This will allow you to have a bird's eye view of your pet's activities and maximize an inverse upward viewing angle (don't worry, the phone app has a setting that allows you to identify the camera as being mounted upside down so the picture displays correctly). Under-shelf/ceiling mounting hardware is included. But you'll need to figure out the best positioning for your own needs. Finally, the microSD slot works great for capturing stills or video without the need to subscribe to a cloud service. In short, you can't beat this camera for the price!

I tried 5 different brand and YI is the best on the functional side but the worst on the instruction. The mode for follow the movement is the best function if you want to see your pet or kids in the house. I do not want to mount it at the ceiling, this way you can see a better angle otherwise
the angle is very marginal to look down. Overall this is the best I can find in a reasonable price range $50.99 with the quality of product can get.
