I love this thing! I've used the Scosche one in the past, and it worked well too, but I went out on a limb for this one for a specific reason.
I wanted the small disc.
The reason why, is I love magnetic car mounts but I also LOVE Pop Sockets. The pop sockets clip is kinda janky and doesn't work that well, especially if your pop socket it mounted offset from center. Landscape view doesn't work because the phone rotates under it's unbalanced weight. I purchased this one specifically because I can slip the small disc BEHIND the thin plastic pop socket face, and kaboom! You've got a magnetic popsocket. It works flawlessly with the device, and I have a heavy phone (S7 edge).
The only thing I'd say is be aware how short this thing is, especially if your dad is very slanted. I installed this in a Honda Fit and the bottom of my phone rests on the dash. It still works perfectly though, I am completely satisfied. As for the adhesion, my surface was almost flat, so I don't think I should experience issues, but they provided 3 extra 3M adhesives for replacement.

This works pretty great. I just wish the magnet that is inside of the phone case was a little stronger, I would like to avoid adhering the magnet directly to the surface of my phone case. I have an iPhone 7 plus and utilizing the magnetic disc within the case doesn't provide as secure of a hold on the mount it would if the magnet touched directly to the mount. Plus the current phone case I'm using has raised edges on the backside of it which prevents the magnetic disc from laying flat on the case. I think this should be something to consider when redesigning or perhaps using a slightly stronger magnet that will securely hold a phone that has the magnet encased within it. This would be especially handy for anyone who changes phone cases on a regular basis.

I love my Wuteku UltraSlim Magnetic Cell Phone Holder! I drive Lyft, and so I need my phone in an easy to see spot for easy access to the Lyft app and easy visibility of the navigation app (Waze) I use with Lyft. I was able to mount the Wuteku unit in a very discreet spot on my dash, and it has stayed solidly attached for over a month now. There's nothing mounted on the windshield to obscure my view (a safety issue typical with those big suction cup holders mounted on windshields) and even with my big LG V10 phone mounted, my view out the windshield is not compromised.
The friction of the ball-joint is perfect. It adjust to the angle you want, but holds that angle even with a big, heavy phone like my LG V10 mounted.

My phone's case is an Obliq case for the LG V10, which it mimics the cool textured surface of the phone's back, and this was a concern for me, in that I was worried about the round metal disc mounting securely on such a textured surface. But this hasn't been an issue as the adhesive on the back of the metal disc solidly and securely affixed to the Obliq case with no problem and is still securely attached after daily use attaching to and detaching to the magnetic mount, being in my pocket, etc. I do highly recommend wiping down the area you intend to mount both the Wuteku holder in your car, as well as the metal disc to the phone/phone's case. This will help ensure a solid contact of the adhesive to the surface it's being stuck to.

The Wuteku mount is smartly designed, feels solidly built and is almost surely the future of car mounted cell phone holders. I heartily recommend this product.

I had bought myself a phone holder device from my respective car dealership - specifically for the brand of cars I am driving. First of all I could not use it with a case on my phone (duh, really?) and then the first part broke after 4 months of careful use, the other part broke 3 months later. At first, this was a great solution. I purchased it about 5 months ago and was really happy with it. I mounted it to a clean, flat, smooth, non-porous surface (radio) and it held my phone securely. It was great while it lasted. Then, recently it started to pull away from the dashboard and finally fell off (kind of like a loose tooth).

It seems that most of the positive reviews are based on initial experience (which, yes is 5-stars!). But, you'll notice there are more and more negative reviews from those who've had the mount for a while. It seems that over time the mount peels off. I'd suggest you look for something else as I'm doing right now and please respond if you've found one!
