I have a small kitchen, ordered three packs of these and ended up only doing one row all the way around, instead of following it all the way up to the cabinets as I'd originally planned. I did go all the way up to the cabinet's underside directly above the stove, which turned out to be a nice effect. I ruined one tile as part of my "learning process" and actually have several leftover.

A couple things I learned, wish I'd known beforehand: On one side of these tiles there is a small strip of silver that comes off first, the part that you will "marry" with the previous tile on the wall. I struggled to get the adhesive backing off until I realized it was easier to remove it from the FRONT. Once that one row is gone, the rest is easy to remove.

In my kitchen, I didn't realize until it was too late that the left hand countertop backsplash was just slightly higher than the main field of countertop and backsplash - so my first several tiles sit right on the edge of my countertop backsplash piece, but once I turned the first corner, all subsequent tiles have a slight gap between the bottom and the bottom of the counter, in order to keep them level! Aaaghh! In hindsight, had I noticed that, I would have accounted for it in the first tile on the left. Word to the wise - check the level of your pre-installed countertop backsplash FIRST.

As other reviewers have said, if you have to reposition a tile you can....mostly...but the adhesive is serious business and it WILL pull paint off with it. I got better about the placement as I went but still ended up pulling up and repositioning a bit.

I found these very easy to cut - scissors was all I needed, thought I'd also recommend having a speed square on hand - makes marking up the cuts simple.

Overall, I"m immensely pleased. Not terribly expensive, not labor-intensive AT ALL. Just take it slow and pay attention to what you're doing. Oh, and have a big trashbag ready - the backings and little silver slivers create quite the mess!

Before I purchased this I read almost every review and looked at all the pictures. We updated our kitchen by painting the upper cabinets a warm white color and our lower cabinets a warm dark grey. Part of our update did not include replacing our almond colored counter tops with fake wood trim and our mismatched appliances in almost every color. So we had a lot of colors to try to tie together and cool grey and pure white just wasn't going to look good for us. When I first opened the package I thought it would be too white and grey and way to busy and flashy with the many mirrored tiles but I had read that once up many people were impressed the color and style adapted so well. So I put it up and after a week of getting used to it I really do like it and am so happy with the look and quality. I will note my opinion on a few things people complained or commented on. 1) they were smaller than I thought. Only 9.25 inches high and since you overlap a little they are far from 10x10. I was very careful to plan and place them before installing. 2)I bought 2 10 packs. I had some color variation. 3 sheets were very much a warmer (brown/cream) tone all around and two sheets were in between the warmer and more grey ones. I actually would have preferred they warmer ones in my kitchen but since there were only 3 and I needed every last tile I placed the warmer ones together above my stove. In the end you can't tell much of a difference. I have attached a picture of the difference and an example of a seam. 3) the mirror tiles are very reflective. At first too much for me. My walls were painted prior and were fairly smooth but had slight texture from the paint being rolled. They adhered great. Even the light texture was seen in the mirrored tiles. For me this was perfect because it broke up the perfect shine and gave it texture like it was real tile. If you want a perfect smooth mirror look you will have to have a perfectly smooth surface. 4)installation: they cut great with scissors and along the grout lines with my fancy craft paper cutter. I had to be more careful cutting down the tiles with my paper cutter because they are thicker and more plastic. The sheets took some getting used to to instal. They are able to be repositioned but very sticky also. I learned to peal off the back. Put it back on with only an inch exposed to position and tack and then pealed off the rest. I was careful to over lap grout lines a tad and not stretch the tiles too much. So far everything is sticking well. My house stayed 68-72 degrees the 24 hrs after instal. My husband loves the look and even my critical eye am very pleased with the look considering they are plastic puff stickers. The seams and color variations are not noticeable. The ease of installation and price were exactly what I needed and they will probably stay for quite a few years.

Our travel trailer had a single piece of similar style peel & stick backsplash directly behind the cooktop, but we wanted something to go around both sides of the cooktop for easy clean-up and to improve the look. I found this style and the colors literally matched the colors in our trailer perfectly.....not to mention after they showed up I realized they also perfectly matched a countertop that we had purchased for a laundry room remodel so I will be buying more of these Tic Tac Tiles for that backsplash as well. The silver/gray looking tiles are actually mirrored so they reflect the light beautifully. Installation was pretty easy. We watched a couple of online videos and you will want to be sure you get at least 3-4 extra tiles than you need for the project as you will likely need them, measuring accidents happen. ;) We actually stuck the tiles on a slightly textured surface (which is not recommended) of our trailer, but it sticks great (the previous "budget" backsplash sheet was the same mylar-backed peel and stick material and it had been on that textured wall behind our cooktop for 4 years and never came off). These are pretty affordable for small projects and super easy to install. I highly recommend these and will be using them again in the near future. As a real estate agent these would be an affordable upgrade to a kitchen backsplash prior to listing a home or just giving your kitchen or laundry room a "facelift." LOVE THESE!!

Great product. Easy to install. Just take your time lining up and cutting. It's tedious but, not hard. About a year after I put mine up they started separating from the wall at the top. I already had these adhesive (that I forgot to use at installation) so I carefully peeled them back some to spray the adhesive. You have to give the adhesive a few seconds to get tacky before you start pressing them back onto the wall. Brush on adhesive would probably be better in this application.

These tiles are great for a quick update. I've had mine up for about a month with no issues, they seem to stick well. I did use a degreaser and a sanding block to prep my surfaces ( prep work is always worth it in any home project). The hardest part was remembering where to make cuts so I didn't waste tiles, since my backsplash was 1 1/2 tiles high.

You can definitely tell they are not tile, they are shiny like a 3d sticker would be. But, that is what you are buying! For the ease of use and the durability, they're a great purchase. If you're looking for stone tile appearance, you may be disappointed. For a easy, quick update they are perfect though- pairing them with a countertop painting kit has totally given my kitchen a new look for minimal work and cost- and it was a project I could do on my own!
