Set up was super easy. Unit settles nicely at the bottom of the hot tub. My 360 gallon hot tub was drained in 15 minutes. Would have been less however I was also hosing down the interior with fresh water. The pump moves water in so much more volume than my garden hose so I'm sure it didn't effect the drain time much. Unit shut off automatically as soon as flotation sensor touched bottom. Very happy with this unit.

I was pleasantly surprised with the efficiency of this hose & pump. I had never purchased a submersible pump in my life but needed one for a hot tub cleaning. It works quickly and efficiently to empty a 400 gal. hot tub. You do need to manage the "hose" a bit so it doesn't collapse and continues to push water through. I didn't time the drainage but it was definitely less than an half hour. Since the pump is submersible, there were a few inches of water remaining in the bottom of the pool For the remedy, I used a gallon plastic container and cut it in the shape of a scoop and was able to scoop out the remaining water. Didn't take long. I thinks this is a terrific purchase if you have a swimming pool, hot tub or some water device which you need to empty periodically to clean the container such as a pool, hot tub or fountain.

I used this pump to empty my hot tub/spa. I bought an extra hose and the attachment. All equipment was provided. It's a little pricey, and it stopped running when there was about 6" of water left in the deepest area, so I had to bail out the last of the water, and sop up the last bit with towels. Simple operation. With the extra hose I was able to empty the water into the street out front.
