Could have been very good, but the quality control seems lacking

I purchased this model for my son who is just starting to learn Ukulele and had been using a Kala KA-15S that seemed a little small for him.
The U100CM is a fairly nice looking instrument and the sound is good for the most part, but the one we received has a few obvious issues.
1. There is a very noticeable buzz when playing the first fret of the G string.
2. Two other frets on the G string play the same note.
3. Three frets on the A string play the same note.
(as demonstrated in the video, which was just a quick, imperfect test but at least shows the problem).
These are likely all the result of uneven frets and/or the action being too low. I don't think either of those items should need significant work right out of the box on a brand new instrument.

and I'm very happy with the price and the quality

This is the first ukulele I've purchased, and I'm very happy with the price and the quality. The strings feel equal in quality to what I'd string my guitar with, not cheap plastic. The wood is solid, and I'm not afraid of warping or cracking it during normal use. The case is a great addition, and my son loves carrying his instrument like a backpack.
Like most stringed instruments, it doesn't hold tuning very well out of the box, but as the strings and wood stretched out and relaxed, the tuning became steadier.

I'm most likely going to have to get another ukulele

I was shopping around for an inexpensive, yet playable ukulele for a couple of weeks when I decided on the Protege by Cordoba. The reviews seemed good enough, and I like the idea of having a well known name brand behind the instrument (even if it is from their more affordable line). I wasn't expecting much for the price I paid, but playability was a must.
Looks-wise, it's very simple, but doesn't look cheap. I always like when the dark and light wood grains invert as you shift the item around.
It's ply wood, but still sounds very good. The tuners seem to be staying in tune. When I first got the ukulele, it would drop almost an entire half step by the next day. But after a week, it's only dropping a bit. I'll update this review if I find it still doesn't hold tune after a longer amount of time.
However, the main reason why I can't keep this ukulele is because the first fret buzzes heavily on the E string. So many songs use that note (F major, G7), and it just sounds awful every time I play it. Even worse, the first fret on the A string won't clear the 2nd fret so I don't even have that A#/Bb available. Luckily, it's not used often. Nonetheless, it's a note I'd like to have available.
Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until the 2nd day, and I had just thrown out the box so I'm stuck with this. I'll see if someone can repair this problem, but if it's too expensive, I'll end up getting another ukulele.

Beautiful Instrument

I just love this thing. It took a while to stay in tune, but I expected this. The instrument looks beautiful, sounds beautiful - it's great for the price! I am so pleased with the uke! The bag will basically only protect it from dust - not the most useful case, but it works for my purposes. One day I'll get a more protective case if I want to travel with good old Usnavi (the name of my uke. I name things).
Beautiful tone I love it.

It is very playable out of the box. No buzzing for me. Stays in tune fairly well. Strings tend to be slightly flat when picked up, but not noticeable from "my dog has fleas!" First and second fret barring is a bit of a challenge. Action may be a bit high for that unless you already play barres from guitar. If you are not barring, you should have no problems. I think the frets could be a bit taller. This could be a personal preference thing as I like jumbo frets.
Cosmetically, it is very pleasing to me. No complaints.
