Not metal, not stainless finish, can't tighten

Not made of stainless. Even though the description says stainless steel it's plastic and the finish is brushed nickel, even on the packaging. It doesn't match a stainless sink great. There is nothing to line up the hole to center, so unless it's a small hole this to work is tricky. The nut doesn't screw all the way up to the top, so if your sink is stainless like mine, you can't tightening it enough. I almost sent it back, I'll give it a week and see if it stays in place, but I'm not hopeful.

Strait forward simple installation, however it's disappointing that the item is not constructed of alloy, but rather a metallic coated polymer. It'll be more corrosion resistant, but I'm afraid that the finish will not stand up to years of scrubbing the same as the stainless sink it's attached to. It's inexpensive to replace but who really wants to crawl and contort under a dank kitchen sink more than once every 10-15 years.

Plastic, Plastic, and more Plastic. I guess stainless is the color, not the material. The head just barely covers the standard sized counter top hole so you have to center it exactly in the hole or you will have part of it not covered. The seal they give you is crap and kept falling into the hole as you tighten it down. Instead of returning it I made it work by throwing away the provided seal. I used a metal washer that was bigger than the hole and used clear caulk to seal the washer to the counter top. Then I used more caulk to seal this plastic sink hole cover to the washer. So far it works and doesn't look too bad. Pretty expensive for plastic in my opinion.

I went to the store and bought stainless steel hole cover. I did measure the hole and got the right size and it was useless. And I paid almost $ 4.00 for it at Lowe's .
I don't know who can possibly think that this item for this price is stainless steel and I don't know why do we need it to be stainless steel, when they builled houses with plastic pipes, but according to reviews, few people do.
This item does what it has to do very well. Matches my brushed stainless steel sink and faucet. And I have very hard time to believe that I would have to replace it in few months like some people here are claiming
