Good but drips a bit
Chris✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 7, 2024
Good quality container. My only complaint is that the spout lets out several drips after each pour which is a bit messy in the fridge
No issues - 15 cold brews later

I saw all the issues and was prepared to return if needed but mine is good: no lid issues, glass is good, filter hasn't fallen apart. My metal lid until now looks brand new. The filter mesh part does seem a little fragile so I'd be gentle with it but I've had no issues. The glass is solid , I clean inside and out after each brew and no issues so far. The spigot is also a little fragile but so far no issues. You have to be gentle with this to get the most mileage out of it. If you're handy there's replacement spigots or filters to keep it going.
3 1/2 Stars - Great Concept with Mediocre Execution

I really like it. Conceptually, it makes alot of sense and it's super easy to use. But, everything about it feels cheap. Thin glass, thin metal cover, and a plastic spout. The metal filter is decent, albeit a little flimsy. Also, I bought one while on sale and the first time using it, the valve had a slow leak which slowly dripped coffee all over my fridge. I reached out to customer service via email and never heard back from them (and still haven't heard back from them). So I exchanged it through Amazon (who we all know has amazing customer service). The second one works great. No leaking. But, again, it doesn't feel as high quality as I would've expected for the price. I'm happy because I got a good deal on it, but I don't think I would buy one at full price. It's easy, has a smart design, and works well. Just set expectations low for build quality and customer support.

If anyone is interested, I put 1/2 cup of grinds in the filter, followed by 2 cups of water. Then another 1/2 cup of grinds, followed by 2 cups of water. And then a third 1/2 cup of grinds, followed by topping off the jug with water. Leave it in there for 12-24 hours and it tastes great. I never texted for instructions as I think that's ridiculous.
This is a well made brewer

This is a well designed and built cold brew jug, far superior to the sun tea jugs with the plastic spigots that often don't last the summer before they start leaking. Besides from having a fine mesh screen for the coffee to brew in, it also has a small screen for the spigot, so you don't have to consult any loose grounds. Now I will tell you about my first time experience with making iced coffee:
I started a cold brew yesterday afternoon and removed the grounds this morning. Unfortunately, as usual it was operator error (isn't it always) because I used about 5 cups of 13 grind Columbian, a really mellow medium roast. Any way, course grind on my OXO burr grinder is from 11to15, so I split the difference at 13. Normally I believe it is a mortal sin to put sugar in coffee, but it was too bitter to drink otherwise. Next time I will lessen the brewing time from 20 to 12, per instructions, grind at 11, and use only 3 cups of ground coffee. I know it may take 2-3 batches before I hit the right combination(I know it did when I switched to the burr grinder) and will not have to adulterate great coffees with sugar. Since I am not supposed to drink sun tea all summer, due to kidney stones, culminating in a surgery, I will stick to my morning coffee and not have to sweat as I drink it.

Works great when used correctly

Like ALL glass jars: Warm the jar (hot tap water works well), then place it on a clear dry surface (I like to use a dish towel), before pouring boiling water into the jar. Doing this will greatly reduce the chance of your jar breaking.
Produces great tasting tea. The filter basket makes clean up easy.
The handle makes it easy to transport. I take it to them farmers market weekly to showcase a different tea each week.
It is easy to tight the spigot if it seems too lose or moves.
The small filter on the spigot is easy to remove for cleaning.
I highly recommend this product.
