Lovely instrument, just be prepared to protect your hardwood floors

We were happy with delivery, ease of assembly, look and sound. Others here have posted more specifically about look and sound, and I have nothing to add. However, I did want to "warn" others that the piano and bench legs offer no protection if you are planning to locate them on hardwood floors. We happened to have some felt furniture tips that we could use, but would have been very disappointed if we had needed to put off assembly after getting everything out of the box to go buy some. We may eventually buy an area rug to better protect the floors from scratching. The bench legs are solid, so the felt tips are well attached, but the piano feet are hollow providing only a thin line on which felt tips can be attached.
I am very disappointed by the lack of quality control

Upon arrival, the keyboard was severely misaligned (keys were at a 30 degree angle) from the front to the rear of each key. Also, the white keys were positioned at a different height from key to key.
Finally, the lid was mangled and only closed part way.
I am very disappointed by the lack of quality control.

Great quality sound and feel, but cheap hardware fasteners

I'm not sure how anyone could give this piano anything less than 4 stars....unless they got a lemon...the sound quality and keyboard are both excellent. Several choices for various sounds/instruments...the only reason I gave it 4-stars is that the sliding key cover broke after my daughter opened it a little too aggressively.
I saw her do it and it really wasn't that hard of a push open that did it.
I had to unscrew the top cover and repair the flimsy fasteners that held the hinges in place...very poorly designed/engineered Yamaha...had to use slightly larger wood screws which was challenging along with some strong 3M fiber tape to cover the hinges (all out of sight under the back cover.)

Just received this piano last night and set it up. From the moment I opened the box I was very impressed. First of it is packaged in a very thoughtful and efficient manner. The package is very dense much like how you find expensive china or crystal packaged. Not much wasted space and minimal Styrofoam. Each piece is wrapped and positioned in a manner that prevents scratching both in transit and when taking it out of the box. The box feels like one solid piece when it arrives. If i could give one tip it would be to have an extra set of hands when moving the box. It says 66 kilos on it but its every bit of 200 pounds in my opinion. I moved it and assembled it myself and now my back is screaming.
On to the appearance. The piano itself looks and feels very nice. Once assembled it looks as if it cost much more than it does. Its pressed particle board of course but the finish is clean and even. There are no rough edges dings, dents, or areas that are unfinished or uneven. I cant see how anyone would have issue with this piano being displayed in their home. We got what I think they call black walnut but its just a deep basic black.Very nice to look at.
Assembly was straight forward. The instructions are on the top of the box so don't throw it out or rip it when opening. It basically comes down to 8 support screws that hold the stand an main unit together and a combination of 6 other screws that attach the decorative back. All the support screw holes are metal inserts so no need to torque them too tight for them to hold. The wood screws that hols the back on are all pre-drilled so as long as you line everything up properly there's no drama there either. We got the optional Yamaha headphones (which i do not recommend) so there's a headphone hangar that needs to be installed as well. Its just two screws on the bottom, goes on very easy. As long as you have help lifting the main unit on to the stand to install it shouldn't take more than an hour to put together. Once its done it feels very sturdy. I saw a review that said the seat that comes with it wasn't very sturdy. Either they changed it or that person got a lemon. The seat we got with ours is rock solid.
Lastly is how it functions. I'm not a musician so you may want to take this part with a grain of salt. I have compared this unit with a real piano and I cant tell the difference. Granted I haven't done a side by side but I'm guessing only someone with a trained ear would be able to tell. There is no detectable telltale sign of synthesized reproduction like with a Casio or other type keyboard. To me it sounds like a real piano. The keys also feel like the ones on a real piano. You get the sensation that you are moving something inside the unit when you press them. There is resistance and subtle feedback like with mechanical keys on an acoustic. I found myself pressing them over and over wondering "how did they do that". I haven't gone through any of the functions or connected my I-pad to the unit yet but the player function is nice. I could imagine using it for pleasant background music during dinner parties or something.
I'll probably add a little more detail to this review once my daughter has used this piano for a while but my initial impression is very positive. I feel that I got every penny's worth in terms of quality and look forward to my kid learning to play.

The response is very good at 'hard' setting
Amazon Customer✓ Verified Purchase•August 12, 2017
Pros:
1. The sound quality is superb. The high tone is clear and the low tone is deep and vibrating. The speaker is very powerful and it is deafening at max volume, probably because of the strong bass.
2. The key is linear graded and response to how hard the key is played. The response is very good at 'hard' setting, comparable to a grand piano where you can play at least from p to f. The response is WAY BETTER than a Yamaha acoustic upright where you only have strong tone.
3. The pedal is hard and short range, the same as a grand piano.
Cons:
1. It is still a digital piano, meaning the key is still lighter than a real piano, even an upright, not to mention Steinway grand. The key don't bounce back fast enough when compared to an acoustic upright and it is more like playing on cotton when compare to a real piano. Also, the key is a little bit noisy, and you can clearly hear it when playing at low volume. But I am currently quite used to it and just ignore it.
2. As there is no string in the system, the key won't vibrate when played, even with the speaker at its highest volume.
3. Rigorously speaking, there is no way the speaker can produce a real piano sound, considering its size when compared to the sound board of a grand. You don't feel the space of the sound. But this is just a minor factor.
In conclusion, this piano got excellent sound, good enough keys. I played it 4 hours a day and really enjoy it.
