I came back to say that I'm increasing the stars from two to four for this product. My original review is below:
The seller wrote me almost immediately after this review and apologized and offered suggestions, they also wanted to know how they could improve (hows that for standing behind your product?). They told me to take out the plastic rings, something I've never done, but it worked wonderfully! Why didn't I think of that? DOH! Now the shears seem a lot different to me. I'm happy with them.

Tightening the center screw helps a bit. The thinning shears don't work well on dogs IMHO. They constantly bind up with hair. I might need to rethink this purchase.

I have a miniature poodle I groom at home - I am not professionally trained. I decided after watching some grooming videos on Youtube, that curved grooming scissors and thinning scissors would be helpful. WOW - helpful is an understatement. This Gimars grooming set is AWESOME! Super sharp and nice quality. I like the zippered padded case too so I can keep my new grooming tools clean and in one place. Price was great too with quick delivery. I definitely would recommend to any dog owner....or cat owner :) Yesterday I groomed my Angora cat and the thinning scissors and curved scissors worked great on his "cotton candy" coat that WAS shedding all over my house!
So far, so good.

This product is a recent delivery to me so I have not used the scissors and comb much yet. They cut well and seem sturdy. They arrived in good condition and on time. The oil container had very little oil in it. The pouch just barely accommodates the scissors and is pretty lightweight but that is of little concern to me. I took out the finger loop inserts to better accommodate my finger size but they are still a snug fit. That may be a problem when I need to use them for a longer session. This set was very affordable so I don't expect amazing results, but of course I am more than willing to be pleasantly surprised.

gave to granddaughter for her grooming business. She likes them. Good price. Hopefully they will stay sharp for longer than the others that she had. (not sure where they came from, but didn't last long.)

Used these set to groom my puppy's face and it worked great! The scissors are sharp and easily cuts his hair. I have a 4 month old maltipoo.
