This thermos is awesome. The proper way to use this thermos is too put boiling water into it for about 10 minutes, then pour it out and then put your hot liquids or food inside inside it and it actually stays hot for a few hours.

The only "problem" I have with this thermal food jar is the scraping noise when you get to the bottom.
Seriously, though. Generously sized portion, seals well. At just past the 5 hour mark, the food inside was still hot - hot enough I needed to blow on the spoonful of soup before eating it! The spoon is, indeed, metal and folds neatly into thirds to nestle inside the niche atop the thermal lid. When folded out, there are stops on one side, and it stays open with use. The 'built-in bowl' is very small, though, and really suitable only for sipping out of. To use it for soup or stew or whatever food would be annoying and take stupid amounts of time refilling.
Overall, definitely recommend.
