Tricks to make installation easier

This unit is very difficult to install partly because there is limited space in the toilet tank. I was successful by first taking the unit apart and removing the base by twisting the black, vertical plastic rod so that the 2 ears on the BOTTOM of the rod slipped into the 2 slots that hold the rod to the base. I tried to be gentle when twisting the rod to avoid breaking the 2 ears, and I was successful. I removed the vertical rod with the yellow cap from the base flange. This freed the base from the unit. The base, which is about 3-4" tall, was now accessible to my hand and I was able to put significant weight on the base to compress and turn the flange seal. Remember to coat the flange seal with dish soap. And remember to reinsert the black plastic rod into the base once the unit is secure.
The DAWN soap trick is a MUST!

Other reviews refer to this. It makes the installation possible versus impossible. You put the soap on the TOP of the gasket, that is, the top of it when it is in the install position. Be generous. It allows the flange to slip and slide over the gasket, the latter which stays in place as you turn.
I don't think anybody else mentions this, but you turn the flange with the gasket beneath it to the RIGHT to install it.

A little stubborn to get in but works perfectly once it is. Quick shipping, low cost, can't beat it. As others have said (in case you haven't read their reviews) add a little dawn to the rubber piece and makes it go in a bit easier.

It took about 2 minutes to install.
Use lots of soap on the gasket, and on the flange. Take the unit apart so that you're only working with the base. Grab it with a small towel, push down with all your weight, and twist. Then you just assemble the tower on top.
Works as expected.
