Of course, they are made in China. This is my husband's second pair. He likes them because they are lighter weight than his Bogs, which he uses when the snow gets high. These are his "fair weather" boots!
Wish we had a choice as to not buy products made in China. We would pay more if the option was available.

I use these while landscaping in the often wet conditions of Seattle. They are a little bit padded, a little bit warm, with a little bit of arch support, as compared to waterproof vinyl boots.
FYI there is no such thing as a waterproof laced boot or leather boot--all of those leak at the tongue or generally when submersed more than 1.5" in water. So to be truly waterproof, these are great.
They have a light tread, but generally good enough to not slip. Under heavy use mine lasted a year before starting to wear through the bottom, and I replaced with the same.
Easy to pull on and off. I recommend sizing a little bit large and wearing two pairs of socks--I use regular socks underneath thick wool-type socks--to get winter insulation.
Tucking raingear into the boots works well, as long as you pull enough leg out over the top to make a "pantaloon". If I wear lightweight breathable raingear, these boots, and waterproof gloves, I can work for at least 4 hours in a downpour and stay dry.

I've worn Mucks for years and thought this would be a "too cheaply made" alternative. I was wrong the uppers are same material & build. The sole "might" be thinner but the value price out weighs it!

Guide Gear boots are great boots. I have bought 3 pair of them already. You can compare other similar boots like these and spend over double! 😊

I have an 8 1/2 to 9 shoe size. I ordered a size 9 boot. When I first put it on with my wool socks, it fit well, but was a tiny bit loose around the whole foot. So, I got my running shoe thin standard inserts, slipped them in and the fit was absolutely perfect! I didn't expect a boot to fit so well and be so comfortable. The test was the creek around my property. I could go up and down the slope jump over rocks and move in areas that require good balance. They felt great and were very supportive. They were also totally waterproof. I didn't want to leave the creek, I was having so much fun. Another good part about the boot is the underside 'tread'. It has a nice flat lightly grooved surface that maintains foot stability without the deep grooves and tread that picks and stores mud and dirt. Also, when looking at the boot before buying I was concerned about the area above the foot area's ability to be waterproof. It is totally waterproof all the way to the top of the boot! So, the boot looks great, feels great, and is comfortable with continued use. Now to see how long it lasts. I recommend it.
