I bought the variety pack to figure out what the different tips were like to use
Topher Moore•July 14, 2017
These are handy for measuring and dispensing small amounts of epoxy. I bought the variety pack to figure out what the different tips were like to use. Now that I know, I will buy only the sizes I like to use. It has been possible, by the way, to measure and mix epoxy right in the syringe. First, fold a little piece of tape over the tip of the syringe to keep the epoxy from leaking. Drip alternating drops of the two parts just to fill the tip of the syringe. Then drip in one part, half of however much you are trying to make, measuring with the marks on the syringe. Follow this with an equal amount of the other part. Place the plunger over the end, but don't plunge it, just cap the end and invert the syringe. Let the epoxy run to the back for a minute. Now seat the rubber of the plunger. A bit of epoxy will come out the tip. Catch this and discard.; it wouldn't have mixed anyway. You may need to remove and replace the tape. Invert the syringe slowly for a minute or two, letting the epoxy fold and mix together. When you are ready to use it, keep the tip up, allow the epoxy to run to the back, and plunge the air out. A little more epoxy will probably come out the tip before the air, so be ready. Then, use it. If you really want, the syringe and tip can be salvaged and used again by cleaning it all with white vinegar. The acid will prevent the epoxy from hardening.
Great for a hobbyist.

I used the same syringe for applying JB Weld twice, 5 minute epoxy twice, once for PVC glue, and I could still use it again. I just cleaned it out with hot water after each use. I figured a one time use for the syringe, but I was wrong. The tips where a different story as they are hard to clean out. For the JB Weld and PVC I just used a small piece of wire to clean them out. However, the tips did not like the 5 minute epoxy. The stainless steel tip reacted with the epoxy somehow and heated up to the point that I was pushing IT out of its connector housing while I was trying to clean it. But for the price I just discarded the tips when I was done applying the glue.
Was going to rate it 3 stars ~ Added one back to make it 4!!!

I like the idea of using the syringes with glue more than actually using it. I find it hard to control the pressure of the glue using a syringe. I ended up purchasing a similar idea, just with a small squeeze bottle that has the same style of syringe-tips (purchased here on amazon prime: Creative Hobbies® Multi Purpose Precision Applicator Super Assortment Set with Four 1 Oz Bottles and 8 Tip Sizes ). I found I had much more control with the squeeze-bottle style than the syringe. I'm using this for Archival, Quick-Dry Tacky glue for papercrafting, and precision really is key.

Thankfully, the tips from the syringe set work with the other style that I purchased, so I have plenty of tips should any get damaged or lost.

All that being said, the product is of great quality. Plenty of syringes and the tips are quite sturdy. They even include a few "caps" so that the glue doesn't dry out. It's just my preference that I don't seem to have the control with the syringe mechanism. Now that I think about it, I'm sort of glad that I bought this set, because that is where I got the caps! Was going to rate this with 3 stars, but decided to add one back just for that, the caps!
Perfect Tool for Sealing Live Edges
Paintslinger•February 7, 2017
I am milling a large oak tree from our woods and on some of the slabs cut from that tree I am going to leave a "live edge" to show the bark. I sealing this live edge I have to get sealer inside some very tight spots within the bark in order to properly seal the whole edge. These syringes are perfect as the sealant does not have a thin viscosity.
The quality of the product seems great and I don't doubt that for other application uses
motodad•February 4, 2017
I purchased these for a specific reason and specific use, and based on the other reviews I read, thought I would chance it. The quality of the product seems great and I don't doubt that for other application uses, like ones listed by other reviewers, that these wouldn't be a great tool to use.

Unfortunately, for my specific application I could only use the smallest of the needle applicators because of leakage out the needle end and I found that the extreme sensitivity in touch that you need to control flow, just didn't work for me. Is the product good? I'd say yes. Did I get what I expected? yes. Is it something I will use? Maybe, but probably yes. What more would you want?

If you are gluing styrene and kit-bashing models of styrene and need to flow very thin Styrene fusing adhesive or M.E.K. plastic fusing adhesive and think this a good application method, I'd say no. I have gone back to my dedicated small brush application which gives me personally a lot more control and less mess. If you are using another thicker kind of adhesive, they might work better, but the amount of exact pressure you need to apply before you send a river of glue spurting out will take practice.
As a person who has been building things all my life, I can't imagine NOT finding a use for these in the future.
