Followed instructions for Installation of the Bumper-Mounted 2' x 2' Generator & Cargo Carrier Tray. It was easily completed in a little over an hour. I do wish that the instructions for tightening the long carriage bolts which secure it to the bumper were a little more exact (i.e. torque to "x" ft/lbs, etc). The current direction of tightening until the tabs bend slightly seems too subjective to me. I also purchased the safety struts. I used the Pre-Load option and encountered no issues. Needed these two products to provide a safe means of mounting and transporting my 100 lb generator. Right now, I feel very good about these products and their ability to live up to reviews i have read about them. That being said, i'll feel a whole lot better when i get back from our scheduled 3500 mile trip in late august with everything still intact. I'll update this post at that time...

Returned from 3500 mile / 13 state trip with no issues at all. I am very pleased with both the Safety Struts and the 2'x 2' cargo tray!

I am impressed by how well it has rode on the back of the RV carrying out 3100 watt inverter generator. Assembly instructions were good. However, the 4 piece designs makes it a little difficult to assemble without an extra set of hands. Plus some of the screw heads did not clamp down as cleanly as I would have liked between the four pieces.

What I like about the lock and load is 1 it is as advertised, 2 when mounted it feels solid, 3 it is very easy to secure to, 4 very modular so fairly easy to put together, 5 Customerservice has been wow so far, 6 value- I think that it's a great value for the money spent.
Disliked so far: I thought that the trays should partially hang over the bumper to allow more of the weight to be transferred in a downward angle rather than in a twisting motion like the factory position, after using this product for two trips I am very happy with it and looking forward to many years of service.

I bought the steel version, and given the nature of these racks in general, an aluminum version just seems dangerous. Anyways, the rack is sturdy once it's assembled, which is somewhat difficult because the instructions are poorly written. For the ultra high price these racks are, there should be far better instructions. A final thought, these racks probably shouldn't be used without the bumper support braces (or something similar).

****edited**** the company read my review and contacted me. They are sending me a new tray with some redesigned components. We are greatful that they are willing to do this for us at no extra charge.

We bought this to carry our 90lb generator. It worked great for a while but today we hit a bump on I-10 and it completely collapsed and drug on the road. Luckily we bolted the generator to the the back of the tray so we didn't lose it and I think it will work but haven't been able to try it yet. It was the Aluminum one and it is supposed to carry 150 lbs. Not sure I would trust it.
