We haven't traveled with the bag yet but so far I am happy with it. While the frame is not incredibly sturdy or in anyway protective of the animal, so long as you are conscious and on guard, I think this is how a pet must travel on the plane, stowed below the seat in front of you upon takeoff and landing. My small pooch was in my handbag from 9 weeks old and she's excited to jump in and go for the ride. I got her comfortable with Mr. Peanuts travel pet crate by opening up all the panels and placing her blanket and toys in it in the living room and leaving it out for a week. She's gotten used to it and is happy to go in now and even plays in it. I wanted to get her used to it well in advance of travel. I think the open airy feel of the mesh windows gives her some comfort that she is not being trapped and reminds me of playing in a fort when I was a child. The material is good. I read some reviews of people reinforcing the structure of the bag.

This is a very nice, well made bag. I got it for my cockapoo puppy- he was 4.5 lbs when I brought him home and he still fits with plenty of room at 8 lbs. I have taken him with me in the car and love that I'm able to buckle him in with the two straps on the back. I love all the zippered opening for different access points, and the pockets are useful for toys and training treats. He really enjoys it and it's held up really nicely to his puppy teeth- he loves to chew the strap and travel tag. The padding inside is nice and comfy and easy to take out and wash. He slept in it at night in my bed until the last few nights. He happily went inside, and I felt comfortable knowing he wasn't going to fall off the bed or get rolled on. Now he's big enough where I let him sleep on the bed without it, but he still likes to go inside some and hang out with the door open. I guess the only thing I don't love about it is that it collapses if it isn't zipped up. I have to prop it between something if I'm going to leave the door open.

First, you have to understand that my kitty is a little insane. And she HATES being in a carrier. The good news is that Mr. Peanut's carrier is strong enough to handle her, even when she's making crazy kitty and jumping and scratching all over the inside. A nice feature is that the zippers have a little clasp that holds the two zipper heads together, so even if she finds the place where the two zippers meet and pushes up against it to try to escape, the zippers don't move. And the little side window is just small enough for me to reach in and pet her (to try to calm her down) without her being able to escape. There's no way she's getting out! This carrier is also nice because it has several pockets so it's easy to store my kitty's immunization record, and have a place for my keys and wallet when I go into the vet. Five stars.

This carrier is constructed from a quality fabric and has a nice appeal! I read previous reviews that noted the carrier could collapse or tip with your pet inside; found this to be true within 30 seconds of placing our 11 pound pup inside, and then picking up the carrier. Basically, pick up the carrier by the handles and not the strap and you should avoid an unfortunate mishap. I am taking our pup (Malti-poo) on his first plane ride and ordered this carrier based on reviews and the references about it being an approved size for most airlines. I am flying on Delta- aircraft is a 737. When I booked the space for the pup, the customer service rep noted that the maximum height for the carrier is 10 inches. This carrier is much higher and will have to be 'squished' down to fit under the seat. The airline did say 'squishing' it down is acceptable as long as the pet can move around.

Even though he's a little hefty, the carrier is very sturdy & strong (no fear of it busting). The color was exactly as pictured.
