Gee Scott, I could have squished the rolls myself if I wanted wobbly TP.
M. A. Barton•September 17, 2017
Hmmm. Somehow I missed the "compressed" bit when I ordered it. I bought these on a lightning deal and my initial reaction on receiving them was "What in the h-e-double hockey sticks is this?!"
It's essentially the same strong, thin but not scratchy, lasts forever product as the regular Scott 1000 product that our family knows and loves -- but CRUSHED. The crushing does save a little space, but when you "pop" the rolls back they are a bit wonky and don't roll smoothly on the toilet paper rollers in our baths -- they wobble a bit -- and since Scott 1000 tissue is fairly thin anyway it makes it marginally more difficult to tear off.
My verdict is that the product isn't aided by squishing the cardboard roll at all. So unless you desperately need to save space in your bathroom cabinet, I wouldn't recommend it.
But if saving space is what matters most -- like you're camping, or on a boat, an airstream trailer or tiny home or cabin, and you like and know Scott 1000 tissue and appreciate it's economical, long lasting, non-clogging, no butt lint greatness -- then hey, go for it! -- because it's the same great product, but smooshed down and you WILL save a marginal amount of space with it. Yeah sure you could squish a roll yourself, but these have been factory smashed for your convenience....
So...5 stars for the usual great Scott 1000 product, but I'm subtracting one star for the fact that the rolls don't "pop" back in a smooth easy to roll way so their space saving concept is a minor fail for me.
