Nice enough, but not worth $200.

Good stands, but I don't know why they're $200. For that kinda money they should come with pads for wood floors so you can still use the spikes, as it is I cannot use the spikes at all and nothing else is included to screw into the steel holes....and knock $50 off the price too.
Excellent Heavy-Duty Speaker Stands

These are indeed heavy-duty speaker stands. The construction is very solid and the assembly went as expected. I put several pounds of sand in each stand because I am running oversize, and quote heavy, bookshelf speakers in my system now - Tyler Acoustics D3MX models. The stands are doing great. I certainly recommend this product.
Very frustrated with these stands!

Very frustrated with these stands! I am going from a two-star "I don't like it" to a one star rating for the time, hassle and effort I've put into assembly. At a price point of $229 I expect more! The finish is not bad but several small spots have no coating, some spots were over-sprayed and left dripping. A few of the legs are scratched, not terribly but at this price I expect more! Now for the painful part.... as one reviewer mentioned the columns do not line up leaving the stands to "wobble" (on my tile floor). I've tried slowly tightening each screw, changing legs, etc. but when all hardware is tightened the base plate is not flush. I have yet to thread all spikes into the base plate, why you ask.... one of the threads is either over-sprayed or not tapped correctly, the spike thread will not catch and is likely to strip if I try forcing it.
If the stands came out of the scratch-n-dent pile for $75 maybe... but for this price point... I expect more!
P.S. - If you purchase these stands plan on filling them with sand. Four columns of hollow steel sitting uneven on a tile floor is not going to produce better sound quality than a nice, thick, solid wood base... at least not for the average home listener.

Quality was fine. No finish flaws or misaligned screw holes as is often the case with imported products like this.
They will serve my purpose, and if the same manfacturer made a more heavy duty version I would buy them as well.

I'm really happy with the way these look and feel

I'm really happy with the way these look and feel. Each stand took 20lbs of fill which was easy to dump into the large openings during assembly. The DS400 stands provide a stable, firm foundation for the speakers, which weigh 23 pounds each. My only nit pick is that 1 of the 8 threaded holes for the spikes on the bottom was not cut properly and I had to use a tool to feed the spike into the hole, could not adjust with a finger. A great product nonetheless.
