these are perfect for drawing up maps and areas on the game maps i have. and once done clean up very easy. I will draw up the game area on the maps before hand and roll the maps up for use later in the week. they do not smear once dry. and just some water and a paper towel and they clean up quickly.

Decent color, they still stain the mat and if they fully dey you need a serious scrubber or cleaner to get them off. They do work so i cannot fault them but for markers they are really expensive.

I've been using Chessex mats for decades. I've tried just about every water soluable marker out there. Staedtler are the only ones that wash off cleanly. Every other marker I've tried -- even the kids "washable" markers from Crayola -- stain the mat within seconds.
There may be some ghosting with Staedtlers if you don't wash your mat off for several days or weeks: but why are you putting away a dirty mat?
Worth every penny.
