This seemed like the perfect fit for me. I waste so much time putzing around online that it seemed a good way to redeem that time with something else useful, like exercise. But I worried a bit since I'm only about 5'1" and some reviews mentioned this as a problem. When it arrived, I followed the instructions for putting it together. Let me tell you, I'm no engineer, and I get frustrated easily when trying to do stuff like this. But the instruction booklet was very clear, and I calmly took it step by step. They even included wrenches so I didn't have to go hunting for the right size of my own tools. It didn't take nearly as long as I feared when I first opened the box (which was nicely packed).

I liked the feel of this unit, liked the adjustability of the desktop and seat, etc., but even when the seat was as far forward as it would go, my short legs had real trouble with the pedals. I tried wearing sneakers with the fattest heels I could find. Still had issues. Then I thought maybe I'd find some way to attach a cushion to the backrest of the seat so I could sit farther forward. I thought maybe I'd put a cushion inside a pillowcase and throw it over the backrest that way. And I still might try that.

But then I noticed the bed/backrest pillow I never use. In a pinch, I moved the seat BACK to the farthest away it could go and then threw the backrest pillow onto the seat. It was a bit of a trick to get onto the bike (it's a trick even when you don't have a pillow on it), but once I was situated, it was perfect. My feet could rotate the pedals comfortably, and the smoothness of those pedals (and the comfort of the backrest pillow) made the time fly by as I read. Sure, the picture looks almost ridiculous, but I tell you, THIS worked. And I can take the backrest pillow off the seat any time I want.

I still might make that pillowcase backrest cushion thing... but for now this instant workaround totally works and I'm thrilled to be getting exercise while reading or using my laptop. I expect to look like the woman in the photo for this product within a year. :) :)

Looking at the picture, you'd think this thing would fit perfectly, and the problem of being sedentary while you work would be solved. However, I should have looked more closely at the image. The woman sitting on this bike is tall. TALL. She's probably around 5'10", if not taller. In reality, the average human is around 5'3". That's exactly how tall I am. Because of that, I have to scoot all the way forward on the seat cushion, so I have zero back support (it's not adjustable back and forth, which is bizarre to me). I also have to raise my arms UP to reach the computer, which drains the blood from them. This occurs on the lowest setting for the platform (they made it so it can't go any lower because your knees will bump the platform). In the end, I can't use it. I can see that it's a good, solid construction... but suitable only for someone who has enough height in their legs and midsection to get them up in the seat and keep the blood from leaving their hands and arms (that's very unhealthy, that blood drain). I didn't see any other reviews mentioning any of this when I purchased, and now that I've put the bike together, I can't return it - so I wanted to warn anyone else out there so that they don't have this same issue.
*I've added a picture since posting this review so that people can see how my frame fits in this bike. I have it adjusted to the utmost it will go for me - the seat is pushed as forward as it will go, and the surface is as low as it will go. As you can see, I have no back support, and my arms are elevated (and again, you should have your hands/wrists lower than your elbows to keep the blood from draining from them if you are going to work for prolonged periods of time, or this becomes very uncomfortable and isn't good for your circulation.)

I was initially pleased at how silent the bike was--no noise at all. I loved it. But within a few weeks, a loud "creaking" (like the sound they make for doors opening in haunted house movies) started. I called the company, but they did not allow me to wait for a real person to answer and forced me to leave a message. But no one ever called or emailed back. Really sucks because it is hard to return a large item like this--especially one that you have to assemble. I prefer to fix the problem, but since the company is unresponsive, I will have to figure out how to return it.

This is a major reason why I do not buy large awkward items online--too much hassle if there is a problem. I normally do not buy large items online, but decided to try this time. Definitely disappointed. Never again. Most items manufactured in China have a success rate of only 50%. So it's a coin toss every time you buy something Chinese made.

And I am truly disappointed in receiving zero contact with the company. Nothing at all.

Was easy to put together and we received it quick however we've logged 600 miles on it and it has been making a major clunking sound coming from the wheel/gear area, the first 450 miles or so it was perfectly quiet and we loved it but the noise is driving us crazy and I'm sure it will quit soon. I'm going to attempt to get in touch with them about this and if it is fixed I will update my review.

After contacting the company about the issue with this I have changed my review to reflect their response or lack there of; I sent an email and had a quick response that I should send additional info and photos or additional explanation of the issue, I sent the info and told them that we could not send photos because the issue was internal but I did explain that the clunking noise was coming from inside the pedal housing. I have sent three additional emails asking when we might receive an explanation of what we are to do and how they are going to handle this warranty issue and I am still waiting to hear from them. I believe that they are waiting for the warranty to run out. We had this less then 2 months when we started having this issue. I would strongly urge anyone considering this bike to look at something else. It has turned into an expensive dust collector.

I am on my desk/bike while I am writing this review....I think this product is incredible !!! Yesterday, the first day this was put together, I biked 4 miles, so quiet, and easy to figure out!! I used the Amazon recommended people, and they were done in an hour!!! I was impressed with the team that showed up at my house, 2 nice accommodating guys!!! This desk is so sturdy ,and fits my 17" computer, plus 2 cup holders, and there is a lip, so your computer can't fall !!! I don't even need sneakers to peddle, flip flops work great, I live in Florida!!! I am Loving this work out, I am 70 and was tired of sitting, I sit at my dining table, I sit in my recliner, and I sit at my desk.....now I am sitting and feel like I am doing something productive with myself !!!!! It is a recumbent bike so I have back support, the seat thank god is wide not like a bike seat, but my tush needs more padding so I will add a seat cushion next!!!! I am already up to 2 miles while writing this review.....I just wanted to get exercise, I have a small treadmill, but I hardly go on it, I put my favorite computer on here so I have to peddle to go on the internet !!! I am going to Disney for Passover/ Easter with my kids and Grandkids, they kept saying " Mom there is a lot of walking and you won't be able to handle it", hopefully this will get me in shape for a week of amazing fun with my 6 beautiful Grandkids !!!! This product has made my retirement a lot more fun....buy it, you won't be sorry!!!!
