Save your money...even if it is cheap.

Blade arrived far from "shave ready". Several attempts at honing that totaled 2-3 hrs with 3000 and 8000 grit whetstones, and plenty of stropping, still left this blade incapable of a clean shave along its entire edge. I spent time researching how to hone properly, and I have to conclude it was the blade geometry and angle to the spine that left sections of the blade too dull in the process. Maybe I could have shimmed the spine to get a better hone, but I'll just invest in a better razor instead. I also own a gold dollar spike point that cost me $30, also available on Amazon. Buy that one instead, or maybe another well-reviewed Gold Dollar. That thing came with a much more impressive edge that was very much shave ready.

It's a knife, the sharpest knife I have, but I won't shave with it. I can't get it sharp enough to shave, I wasn't expecting much so I wasn't disappointed but if you want a cheaper shaving razor go for a shavette. And if you want a non-shavette spend the $ on a fine dovo or equivalent.

I ordered a bit late as a Valentine's present. It was estimated to be about two days after we planned to celebrate, but it came the same day we had plans so it worked out. The blade itself needed some sharpening but was in good condition otherwise. My boyfriend loves it as its his first one and it has made him want to collect more. He said it was a good clean shave and he's definitely recommend to others.
