I'm not sure how a product can withstand 400 degrees ...
Amazon Customer•January 7, 2017
I'm not sure how a product can withstand 400 degrees, then drop back down to 60, attached to powder coated metal and still not be toxic. I couldn't find this in ANY local store - of any type. I needed it to plug some of the places smoke could escape from a smoker recently purchased. It has very simple instructions, lays on just about the same way as bathroom caulking, cleans up well when you wipe up right away. It's been on for about a month now - still resilient and still works exactly as it was described.
Modifying 30 yr old smoker
Joseph•July 16, 2016
Used this to cover up gaps when I modified a smoker over 30 yr old. Made fire and used 3 days after curing to make sure there would be
no smell nor problems, cooking temp to 350. Then filled pot with charcoal and made my smoker smoke to get the flavor in the 7.5 lb
pork no bone in meat. It was my first large piece of meat and I have received many complements on how tender it turned out. Still learning.

I used this for my offset smoker and it worked ...

I used this for my offset smoker and it worked adequately. Some of the higher temp areas deteriorated, but that's to be expected.

Absolutely do not buy this crap. It will not hold up to high temp

Absolutely do not buy this crap. It will not hold up to high temp. I wasted a lot of time putting it between joints and cracks will putting my new smoker together. Terrible
