I spent about one hour installing the levelmate pro. I just eyeballed the horizontal. No level necessary. The hard part was leveling my RV trailer manually like I have always done before using a 7 foot level for maximum accuracy. I adjusted the side to side to exactly center the bubble on the level. I also adjusted the front to back the same way. The accuracy of this step will affect the accuracy of the levelmate pro when the levelmate is calibrated electronically.

What I find the most useful is that the levelmate tells you how much height is needed to achieve accurate leveling side to side. The front to back height is also useful if your jack adjustment requires additional blocking.

My only minor complaint is that the app for Apple or Android does not rotatethe screen. I am also using my tablet as a review monitor with a horizontal orientation. The levelmate graphics do not force you to rotate the tablet vertially when using levelmate but it would be nice if the app rotated the screen like most other apps.

The battery in the unit doesn't last long. And once its dead you need to reset it back up again. It needs a couple of modifications to make it excellent. 1st needs NVRAM to save the settings when swapping the batteries. 2nd, it needs a button on it to wake it from sleep so you can check for level a few days into your stay. They don't appear to understand that lots of sites are dirt or gravel and sometimes the jack sink in, but you cannot get the device active again without smacking the unit really hard. Probably not good for it. But what else can you do without a button to wake it back up.

I love this thing! Maybe it's because I'm a girl, but I always struggled leveling our motorhome (25' LTV Unity). 😆 I ran across this device on an RV blog and immediately began investigating. It didn't take long to realize I had to have it. The box arrived quickly. Yay! I checked out the instructions and You Tube installation video and downloaded the app. Set up was easy and straightforward. I gathered the tools necessary...level, tape measure and small phillips head screwdriver and attached the device to the wall inside a closet. I then took (and wrote down) the required measurements between the tires and set out to find a level spot so I could initialize the unit. It needs to set a basis for "level", so it's necessary to level your rig or find a level spot. That was the hardest part as most all parking lots have some slope for water drainage. I finally found a level area and was good to go.

We just returned from a 3 week trip, and at each campground, leveling our Motorhome was a breeze. I was able to move forward/back as necessary to adjust, and if over about 2", I would set up the leveling blocks. It is nice because it tells you how many inches each wheel is out of level (if at all). Really took time off the set up process.

The cost is nothing to sneeze at, but if you can swing it...I would highly recommend this device. The unit runs off a 2032 battery and broadcasts a bluetooth signal for an hour after you turn on the app...this is to preserve the battery.

I have had this for several months now and i feel i can give it a very honest review after using it often. When i first read about this item i thought it would be the greatest thing. I could mount it in my travel trailer, set up my ramps and pull up on the ramps until they camper was level. If it worked like that then it would be great. But it does not work like that and it actually takes longer to set up than with a cheap, battery less bubble level. First get the camper somewhere and perfectly level it and calibrate the device to that initial setting. If it is not perfectly level, then every time it is set up level per the device it will be incorrect. Second the device uses a button cell battery- seriously- a tiny button cell battery that sits in it in a camper that gets in excess of 100 degrees. Be ready to replace batteries often because in extreme heat they wont last, and when opened up to replace the batteries the device moves slightly and now the level calibration is no longer correct. If the camper is aluminum skinned or has to transmit thru many walls or many feet in distance to the camper the device is virtually useless, it wont transmit thru thick walls. As i discovered bluetooth does not transmit thru the aluminum skinned camper shell. What i thought is that i could sit in the cab of my truck, watch my cell phone and when it indicates level put on the brakes and choc the wheels. The reality, the transmitter wont reach into the cab of the truck, so now i have to depend on another person to hold the device and relay the information to me. Well it wont transmit thru the camper aluminum so i have to have the person stand near a window in line of sight of the transmitter and tell me what to do. The problem is the device is so jumpy in readings it is tough for them to tell me to stop quickly enough. The bubble level is much easier. Oh and did i mention battery life? You pay $140 bucks and then the battery is dead when you get to your site. What is the fallback plan? a bubble level. Save money, save frustration and headache - pass on this. At least i can see a bubble level thats on the front of the camper. Oh yeah and while setting up your camper to level it front to rear i get dirty greasy and grimy. Who wants to hold their $300 -$600 cell phone and get grease and grime on it because you have to operate the cell phone to scroll thru options to find level (that is if it transmits thru the skin of your camper)? I have my wife and kids relay the information on it because it wont pass thru the walls of my camper, they all complain the same issue that the display is confusing, they dont know if the picture indicates that they need to raise that side with the number or if that side is that much higher than the other side. I am sure this device seems great to the person who made it, but for those of us using it, nothing beats a bubble level, it always works when you need it to. Do you really need an argument inducing piece of electronics when setting up your camper?

ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE: While I have not tested this one it looks promising and is much cheaper. Wish I would have tried it, search amazon for "RV LEVEL Micro - Wireless RV Travel Trailer Camper Level Indicator for Android "

FOR A FREE ALTERNATIVE- just do an app search look up "camper leveler free edition" or "caravan level" there are so may aps out there that tell you the same information and you already have your phone with you, why buy yet another device.

Used this item this past week for leveling my travel trailer and made leveling from my truck easy using the Anderson Levelers. I was able to back up slowly and watch for level, then stop and chock for level. It worked very well from inside my truck for self leveling. Since I have only used it one time, I can say for battery life or other, but when we was parked, I got no signal (like it is supposed to do) and while traveling and upon arriving to camp site, it found signal quick and should help battery life with auto on/off upon movement.
