Bought two of these...one I couldn't get the battery door off to put in the batteries and the other one we gave to my 93 year old father in law. He used to be a carpenter and now has some challenges getting around. He loved this because he can measure with the laser without having to use the traditional tape measure...although that was still available on this should he want to use it. It was very accurate.

Good, accurate tape measure. Verified the laser measurement against the tape--same and same. No instructions as remarked upon. First press of red button turns laser on. Second press takes measurement. Additional presses may be required if device can't detect beam. Useless in daylight, but works well indoors or at night/dusk. I enjoy using it and would recommend it.

When estimating for my work I used to carry around a tape measure and a laser measure. I have been waiting for a combo like this and before righting this review, I used this product for one year and I just it 5 days a week. It has stood up to the abuse very well. The tape could be stronger and longer. The laser works up to 50' and seems to be enough for my daily use. Give this a try.
