A little tricky but works!

I use this to break up the mats that came with my newly adopted long-hair cat. The mats are in areas that are harder to reach and she's sensitive about (near her arms). It took me a while to figure out how to use it effectively. The blades aren't super sharp, so they don't just go through like butter. But if I try to comb through the mats little by little, it breaks them up to the point where I can do a quick tug and cut or even get them worked out far enough from her body that I can cut with scissors. Not ideal, but good to finally have something that was affordable and gets the job done. Hopefully I can prevent new mats from forming now, and this will stay in the drawer.

I was a dog groomer for years (now just groom my pets) and very familiar with dematting combs/rakes. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised that this one works very well with removing undercoat with safety measures built into the design. I really like it - this tool cuts in half the time spent in removing loose hair by brush. I'm really glad I tried it - I love it.

Item was exactly what I was hoping it would be. I have two Shi Tzu's. Both mat real bad when hair gets too long. This item helped loosen, and remove mats. It is the perfect size to use. Blades are sharp enough to remove hair, but not sharp enough to harm dog, or cut the person using it. I would highly recommend this product. Also, the customer service that accompanies this product seems to be awesome.

Item delivered on time and in perfect condition. I have used this only once, briefly, as my cat doesn't exactly hold still for grooming! It worked very well in simply de-shedding him though, without hitting a mat to work on.
Almost can't wait for him to develop a mat so I can see how well it works on getting those out without pulling on his skin so much! Smiles

Great Fur Management Tool

I have quite a few grooming tools for my cat. She has such silky hair, even sitting in one spot will cause mats deep in her fur. I opened this up and used it, and it immediately removed several of the knots I couldn't get to by any other means.
Really a great tool, especially for hard-to-reach spots on an ornery cat. The only downside is it's configured only for right-handed users, and sometimes I'd like to use my left hand with it. Otherwise, it's great!
