I might suggest going with the version without the ankle straps. With them makes it harder to use for exercises that are not either in the front or back

If your having trouble activating your glutes and driving your leg up high whilst standing and pausing at the top in cable kickbacks, this is without a doubt THE PERFECT piece for you. It doesn't bug my legs in any ROM, it securely stays, and yes, the strap that goes over your shoes may be a bit loose, but I have a vague idea it's just in case for bulkier sneakers. Anyhow, get it!
