First impressions

First impressions. The knife is larger and heavier than I expected. I like the way it works as a whole. Squeeze the handle, blade comes out. Push the thumb button and release the handle, the blade goes in. I press the blade removal button, pull the blade out and try to get another blade to seat in its place, that is where it takes several attempts to get the handle to come all the way out enough to grab the next blade. I hope that due to it being new, it may be a bit stiff? Not sure. I have not really used the knife yet, just played with its features. One star off for not working perfect out of the package. I will update the review if my experience using my new knife changes my thoughts on the rating.
Mostly a gimmic

Not impressed. It takes several pounds of force to squeeze the handle and get the blade out. Then you have to do it again and press a button to get it to retract. And you can hear parts straining inside of it like it's just waiting to break. It might be fine for a junk drawer knife that sees very occasional use. But I quit using it at work in under and hour. My hand was feeling it already after opening and closing 50-60 times. Perhaps it's only redeeming quality is that it's pretty big. So if you have big hands and find normal knives small and a little awkward at times this might be worth dealing with it's faults.
For House, Sure, For Warehouse, No.

The concept of this "switch blade" box cutter is super cool, but it didn't 9 months in commercial application. We have it in our warehouse and within a few months it would start to stick open. Last week my operations director had to take it apart to try and fix it because now it won't stay open at all. It may be good for a home application, but if you are looking for something that is good for a warehouse or packing house, go for a traditional box cutter.
Quality made tool

Cool tool. It works as advertised. I am a contractor, and I have been hard on it, using it everyday, to see if it can take the abuse. A month later, i can say it does. I have been giving it a hit of WD40 about once a week. Something i do with all of my box knives.
The only issue for me is the size. Very bulky when compared to standard box cutters. Unfortunately, it's too big to fit in the knife holster on my tool bags.
The switches are well placed and using them has become second nature. I am right handed though, and pretty certain the placement of the closing switch will be inconvenient for lefties. This is a great re-envisioning of an old standard that really works well making blade changes easier. Nice job

Hate to feel like a "helpless female," and this utility knife is a dandy tool to add to my toolbox. I like "pulling the trigger" (squeeze the handle) to extend the blade and easily press a button with my thumb to safely retract it, and I wanted a knife that held replacement blades that could be inserted without requiring any tools, such as a screwdriver. Nice weight. Feels like a quality utility for a reasonable price.
